I don't really want two teams, but I could live with this as long as the Rams come back.

quote:

On the brink of a vote that could return the NFL to Los Angeles, a consensus is building within the league for the St. Louis Rams and San Diego Chargers to share a stadium in Inglewood.

Multiple league officials and owners not involved with the Inglewood project, or the competing proposal in Carson, say there is momentum to pair the two franchises in what one owner describes as a "transformational" project backed by the Rams.

The league insiders, who spoke on the condition they not be identified because of the sensitivity of the matter, say Spanos doesn't want to be seen as turning his back on a partner. This makes the path to what is emerging as the preferred pairing more difficult. But the insiders believe the matter can be resolved during the special meeting that starts Tuesday in Houston, where owners hope to find an answer to the two-decade L.A. vacancy.

Every poll I've seen indicates that the Rams have a LOT more support in LA than the Chargers do, so I'd say the Chargers.

Fine with me. I still suspect there is bitterness toward Al Davis even though he's dead. I really think his son should have partnered with the 49ers in their new stadium like the Giants and Jets did.

I understand the want to be back in that market but don't understand the need to put 2 teams there.

Why put two teams there?

Why not just one?

Same here. And though this is strictly anecdotal, I haven't met a single person in LA who wants two teams. And frankly I don't think LA will support two teams.

Being the Rams owner is footing more of the stadium bill .. I would say the Chargers. Now what could be interesting is if San Deigo works a deal with the Raiders in a few years. The City of San Deigo has said they were willing to discuss a new stadium but the Chargers stopped talking to them.

How do would you go about picking your team?

I grew up in Houston and I struggle to give a shite about the Texans albeit I'd probably care more if lived there.

How could the city seriously build up a fanbase for both teams? Seems like there won't be a lot of support for at least one of them when it comes to the fans.

Why can't they take baby steps and bring in just one team at the moment...

Sharing a stadium makes perfect sense in a market as big as LA. It works fine for Jets/Giants

I"m an NFC guy so I'd pick the Rams. Plus the Rams spent almost 50 years in LA and only left 20 years ago. I had been living in LA for 2 years when they left. I hated them then because I'm a Saints fan, but now I'm ready for them to come back. Not having a local team sucks.

Basically the NFL is corrupt as it gets.

They will buy off Davis, and the turds of the league(jerrah) have persuaded Spanos to partner with kroenke.

Kroenke is the guy who Spanos called, wanting to talk about maybe doing something in inglewood area a year before Stan buys the land. Spanos finds out several months later after no response back from Kroenke, that Kroenke has purchased the land that Spanos wanted to partner on. And quietly does it, showing how big of a weasel Stan really is.

they must of greased Spanos good, to partner with Kroenke, since the day Stan screwd him over, he has hated the guy.

At least the Rams can literally be in the NFC West.

You need two teams there for the tv packages. If you have the AFC or NFC package you want a team in LA.
