I mean...not really. Im sure a lot of people go their whole lives never really needing to know about cardinal directions. Im not saying it doesnt make you stupid. But its so far down the list of shocking intellectual blindspots.

Finally, I found a person smart enough to agree with my views.

To be fair to Hayes, the HBCU he originally enrolled lost their accreditation and was has closed.

So far down?

Is not knowing you have hands #1 on your list?

I don't care where you live, but being able to look out the window for 20 years of your life...and not knowing where the sun sets - is being pretty oblivious to life as a human being on this planet.

That to me is pretty damn shocking. Go outside, take a look. It's not that difficult.

What? The dude is from North Carolina. What does LA have to do with his (insane lack of) education?

The deadpan way Jeff Fisher explains it just cracks me up:

"I haven't had the luxury of overhearing his discussions regarding the dinosaurs."

I got into a discussion a few years back that turned into an argument when I mentioned how the moon rises about 50 minutes later every day. The person I was speaking said, "what? The moon doesn't rise and set!" After being stunned silent I tried to explain about the rotation of the earth, the moon revolving around earth, etc and it all fell on deaf ears. I finally resorted to calling other people over to back me up and NO ONE DID! Like 4 or 5 people, adults, and none of them believed me that the moon rose and set each day. Most unbelievable argument I've ever had in my life.
