You Cubbies are a sensitive bunch. His 162 game average is 30.
Either way, that doesnt' make Schwarber better than Zunino. It's an insult to Reynolds to compare the two.

I meant my first post as an insult to Reynolds. Throughout his 10+ year career, he has been a terrible player except for hitting homeruns. Even then, he's had only 3 seasons of over 30. His average HRs of 30 was given a bump by a 44 hr year. That's my point. Other than that, he has been a shitty player that Schwarber should never want to resemble.

Yeah, it was a solid comparison of what Schwarber could become if he continues to suck. Then it was brought up that Schwarber wishes he could be like Mark Reynolds, so I proceeded to tear that down with stats because Reynolds sucks except for this year, 10 years into his career.

Reynolds slash line over 162 games is .238/.329/.457.
Schwarber's is .207/.325/.430.
My point is that to act like Schwarber is even in Reynold's ballpark is laughable- especially since Reynolds's never batted .171. If this season is any indication, the Cubs would be very fortuante if Schwarber had a Reynolds-like career.

How did you tear that down? Schwarber could be on his way out of the league. Reynolds is still hitting bombs.
Of course he wants to be better than Reynolds, but at this point I'm pretty sure Schwarber would rather be Reynolds than whatever the hell he calls his swing this year.

Reynolds is having a good year, I'll give you that but the cubs won't wait a decade to get that out of Schwarber. I never said he's currently in the same ballpark. I said if he doesn't start getting base hits instead of striking out, he'll end up like Reynolds, which would be a huge disappointment. Schwarber is 23 with much room to grow. Reynolds has had a disappointing career.
