Kobe is so overrated. I've said it once, and I'll say it again. If he spent his whole career with the supporting cast that Tracy McGrady did, he would have no rings.

I would say Kobe is overrated, but ESPN had him as their 40th best player. That seems fairly accurate. I still think Kobe is really good, definitely a top 3 SG of all time. Yes, he benefited from having Shaq on his team, but he was also a winner. He hit a lot of clutch shots and was a very good defender. Now, he's forcing everything (the lakers are better when he's not on the floor believe it or not) and plays zero defense. I know his team is bad, but he's not trying to win, he's trying to make himself look better than everyone else while selling out his teammates.

I think kobe knew what he was doing. Distancing himself from the situation (which he helped create). Oh look how mad I am about how bad we suck

He knows there is nothing kupchak can do. Sorry kobe they're not trading what picks they have left so you can win 30 games

Certainly, but treating teammates slme semblance of respect is also an important trait to be good teammate and leader.

Not to mention Kobe is part of the problem because:

1. His salary, which he is entitled to, significantly limits the level of players they can obtain. This is especially true because players don't seem willing to take a pay-cut to play for the Lakers like they have for other teams (e.g., Heat the last few years).

2. Taking 22.4 shots per game while shooting a rather poor 39% is not a very viable recipe for winning. Maybe he has to shoot more because of his teammates (which would invariably decrease his shooting percentage) but the lack of efficiency is on him.

Kobe would've won something with a healthy Yao.

So you agree Kobe wouldn't have won any.

Dudes about to pass up MJ in points.

So what you're saying is that in 18 seasons he still has fewer points than MJ got in 14?

Did he really say that. Surprised the media isn't blowing it up. Someone said back in October it'll be a matter of time before he gets pissed and start speaking out.

That's just Kobe's style. He's like a drill instructor. If he can get in your head and you act like a pussy, he's gonna see it real quick.

So Kobe is getting hate for calling out his teammates half arse effort during practice? Must be a lot of Iverson fans around here. How many rings did he win again?

This is so fricking stupid. The Lakers have enough room to sign another max deal guy, they just have to get rid of Jeremy Lin and his terrible 15 mil against the cap.

No he's being criticized for treating poorly, including Mitch Kupchak, who obviously wasn't practicing. Also he's not showing a lot of personal accountability for his poor play. In addition, he complains about the unfair pressure to take a pay cut to get better players, then seems upset when the players are bad as expected.

So Kobe being overpaid, relative to his value on the court, doesn't have anything to do with his poor supporting cast. Sure the front office didn't make great decision (his contract being a major one) but players didn't seem to be lined up to play. So limited funds and the lack of interest (which may be partially related to Kobe) lead to this.
