For any school to have a grad rate of 98% it's impressive. For a school that is 93% black that's amazing.

but if you drop out, do you count against the graduation rate?

Karr's a good school by NOLA standards - the principal was asst principal when I went there in the 80's (Jr High, before the days of ankle bracelets). 60% of grads go on to 4-year college, and a good education can be had for those in horors/gifted/AP courses. It's slated for a new building soon (current building is from the 60's but has been pretty well kept).
