I wish ESPN would just accept the fact that no sane person will pay for their insider articles.

plenty of threads. It's pretty historic what's happening there right now. Feels like Fox Sports is making a serious move at grabbing viewers.

Why not? I don't give a shite myself, but the idiots at Disney are basically destroying an institution. It is horrid, not a matter of opinion. The only way they are not completely fricked is because so many people keep cable and py for their ridiculous shite without really wanting it. Turn cable into a total cafeteria menu, tell everyone that ESPN costs them $6 a month, and watch what happens.

ESPN has been fully engulfed in the ABC way, and that turns off most everyone.

ESPN used to be the only thing I watched on tv. Now all I watch on it is pretty much strictly games. I turned it on this morning when I get to work because there was nothing else on tv and within ten minutes they did some stupid arse segment where there were two sports casters acting like they were at Woodstock. That forced me to change the channel.

You used to be able to watch sportscenter and keep up with the NBA and MLB. They would show highlights of nearly every single game, with the scores. Now 90% of the NBA talk is about the Warriors, Spurs, Cavs, Lakers, Knicks and Thunder. I was surprised the other day when I heard the Jazz were like the 4th seed in the west or something. You would never know that from watching ESPN because they don't ever say a word about them. Pretty sad what it's become.

They do a bachelor fantasy league or something. There's some guy who talks about it on the radio. I just deal with it, it won't kill you.

I heard Mel Kiper ranking the females on the bachelor and even though I've never actually watched the bachelor, his rankings were pretty entertaining. Especially since he now sounds like a caricature of himself. Plus it was on some random Saturday morning ESPN radio show that probably only has 700 listeners

If you're up at 1am watching Sportscenter you need to reevaluate your life.

Highlights aren't their market segment anymore. If you're a person who pays for ESPN, there's a good chance you also pay for NBA Network, MLBNetwork, NFL Network, etc, which show numerous highlight shows. Couple that with Internet, and constant connectivity and access to games, ESPN essentially can't be what they were. Don't expect any sweeping changes in today's tecnhological market.
