Once the ball is dropped, it is no longer a batted ball, it is a live bobbled ball.

And that doesn't give the runner the right to change the path he is running on and run over the individual that dropped the ball.

i hope that's sarcasm.

He would be suspended multiple games in the big leagues for starting a brawl like that, so why should it be any different in college? What he did was chicken shite and completely unnecessary. This isn't football.

Just answer this one question for me, does your opinion change if the pitcher retains the ball and is attempting a tag?

No, the runner went out of the path he was on to collide with the pitcher. It is a chicken shite play regardless of whether or not the pitcher held the ball. Watch what typically happens when a pitcher is in the middle of the baseline holding a batted ball. The runner usually just stops and lets the pitcher tag him.

You're finally showing your stance on this play. You mad because the pitcher got trucked.

If he does his job and fields the ball cleanly (read as doesn't bobble it bc he's afraid to be touched), tags the guy and gets trucked, then you would be justified in your anger.

The pitcher bobbled the ball and was no longer attempting to make a tag or field the ball. He was also standing in the basepath while doing this. Therefore, the runner is not interfering with his ability to make a play on the ball and should not be called out.

I'm not looking up the rules either, but if the fielder is not attempting to make a play on the ball, he cannot impede the runner's ability to advance to the next bag. There's always 2 sides to the story.

I'm not mad about anything.

I'm not angry.

That does not give a base runner the right to truck over him.

I haven't said one single time in this thread that the batter should be called out. I said that it was a chicken shite play. It was. He changed his path in order to purposely run over a player. I don't care that it was the pitcher. Your comment is also retarded. The pitcher was still attempting to make a play on the ball. Just because he bobbled it doesn't mean he couldn't make a play. That ball was sitting right at his feet.

Maybe you should before you come in spewing a bunch of bullshite.

but if the fielder is not attempting to make a play on the ball, he cannot impede the runner's ability to advance to the next bag

The pitcher was most definitely still trying to make a play on the ball.

After all of that you made 0 points and you didn't even argue what I have been saying through the thread. I don't give a shite whether or not they called runner out for interference. It was still a very clear and deliberate act to run over the pitcher. It was a chicken shite play on the part of the FSU runner. That is all I have said throughout this thread. Thank you for trying though.

It's really not debatable. Even by your own words, the runner was not within the running lane.
