It really is a solid deal for the Rangers. The Angels misplayed the situation badly and it's costing them a lot of money.

That's good for him. He seemed to be at his best with the Rangers, performance and personal life wise.

So, in effect, the Angels will pay Hamilton about $68 million to play for an American League West rival,

The Angels paid all but $2 million of Matthews’ five-year, $50-million deal and all but $14 million of the four years and $68 million they inherited on Wells’ contract after acquiring Wells from Toronto.
That's a lot of bad decision making.

He had a few slip ups in Texas, also. Wish him luck because he is a fun player to watch. This whole situation is strange.

Angels are terrible with contracts

I wish I had that sort of money to throw around

It's just hilarious to me that they spent 125 million on a widely known recovering addict and lost their shite when he relapsed. I mean really

Thankfully it's to a team that knows what they're getting into with Hamilton.

So, the Rangers only have to pay $6 million of his contract... total? So for $2 million a year, and giving up a PTBNL (essentially, nothing), the Rangers got a guy who is actually better than any left fielder currently on their roster?
Not a bad move. Especially since the Angels are eating the contract. Even if Hamilton spends the next three years snorting all of the cocaine, the Rangers haven't lost anything. This is a no risk move.

Hopefully this shite will wake JHam up to how good he had it w/the Rangers and he won't act like such a tool this time around.

No telling how this whole deal will end.. hope we see 2010 Hamilton again.

coke dealers all over the metroplex are fapping

I'm not sure why he thought LA was a good place for a recovering drug addict

I don't think we will ever see 2010 Hamilton again, with what Texas will be paying him even if he hits like he did last year they're getting a good deal

No kidding.
Your best bet is to hope for a guy that can hit .265 and hit 20+ HRs for the next couple of years.

Just wishful thinking and me being a huge Rangers homer no chance that he will ever come close to that level again.

Yeah, I don't know who decided to sign off on giving 9 figures to a cokehead

Can we make Jon Daniels the PTBNL?
