On pace? More like he's already made a good living. Could live off investment returns from that for life.

Did you know during the height of his time at wwe The Rock made 120m a year?

Rock didnt make anywhere near that when he was a full time wrestler. That was after he left and came back several years later. While he gets a huge per appearance fee from WWE now, the vast majority of that money was because his movies. He was the second highest earning actor that year, behind only RDJ.

I don't even kind of believe this (about The Rock). It's just simply not true. John Cena is not The Rock, but he is the top star and his merch sales are running circles around everyone else, and he only clears about $5 million a year from what I understand.

Sports entertainers (even with a cut of merch sales and side projects) simply don't make THAT type of money.

Yeah that article doesnt do a very good job in clarifying when/where his money was made.

Whoever came up with that was just pulling something out of their arse. The Rock never made $120 million in a year. He's probably barely worth $120 million right now. Not like there's anything wrong with that, but the number is just way off. At his peak in the WWE, I'd say he made at most $5-8 million and that is probably still being generous.

His movies grossed $1.3 billion in 2013. Unless his agent is completely incompetent, I would say $120 million is totally doable, especially when endorsements + WWE appearances and merchandise is included.

Forbes had his net worth at $75 million in the 2012-2013 year. So its most certainly gone up since then.

ZJ took home 1.8 million from this weekend. In 1995 Corey Pavin won the Open Championship and took home 350k.

Jordan Speith didn't revolutionize the world of golf, Tiger did. To compare the two is just ridiculous. Earnings on tour back when Tiger arrived are just a fraction to what they are giving those guys these days. Tiger essentially made all of this money for Jordan, he should send a thank you letter.

I agree that the $$$ is where it is right now because of Tiger. This wasn't suppose to be a comparison between Tiger & Speith, that's why I didn't put anything about Tiger in the title of the post. Was more trying to point out how much bank Speith had made this year.

I understand that the article compares the two, but it's really more about how much money Speith is earning in comparison to the highest earning season of record (which just happens to be Tiger in 2007).

Add to his Golf success that he is basically the poster boy for Under Armour and yes, he will be set for life pretty soon.

Not to mention that he could always have a career as a stunt double for Paul Dunne.
