Or more, how does being a fan of a sport make sense at all? A bunch of grown men playing a game and not working a real job for a living? Oh well.

You read a lot in the facts I posted. No opinion offered. A bit sensitive are you? No, you are trying to make a point. I've been reading your posts the past few days. You are a Winnfield fan. You love to point out that JC is excellent, as if you are hinting at something isn't right.

I posted facts. If I am trying to "make a point" or "hint at something" I'll come out and say it. I am a Winnfield fan. Winnfield has played Curtis three times. The first time Curtis came to Winnfield in the semifinals and beat a Winnfield team that had three players who would start for LSU. Great win by Curtis. In 1982 Winnfield defeated Curtis for the AA state title. If you win a title you want to do it against the best. Great win by Winnfield. In 2011 Curtis drummed Winnfield in the AA state finals. Curtis would have beaten most teams in Louisiana that year. Great win by Curtis.

I'm still a bit confused, you say I like to point out that JC is excellent. Is that a bad thing or a good thing?

Glad to have a discussion with you. I can say we can agree to disagree. I feel that your principal certainly has a degree of contempt for Curtis, although I won't say hate, and I know you side with her. I don't agree that her concept of fair is really fair. I also don't agree that public schools are at a disadvantage in high school sports in LA. It just seems fishy that a Winnfield guy would be praising JC. But hey, if I'm wrong I'm okay with that too.

What is the right way?

Based on everything I have seen from JC's program: my own interaction with their coaches, observing their athletes, and talking to former athletes...if they are not doing it right, no one in Louisiana is.

People want to cry about JC recruiting. First: which of their athletes are not paying tuition? Second: if you were a stud athlete in Orleans, Jefferson, St. Bernard, St. Charles, etc. why would you not want to go to a school where you can be coached by a legend? John Curtis does not need to actively recruit. Their record does the work.

Haynesville wins with Haynesville kids. Any dominant public school for that matter.

What's more impressive?

What's the radius where JC can get kids and where Brusly high can get kids? If Brusly or someone like that ever wins a title, 10 times more impressive IMO

Just to say this, Tigercross has no reason to be a JC fan. But he understands that small private schools have the potential to do amazing things when all the athletes are on board. He has seen that firsthand with the school he went to. The fact of the matter is so many great athletes are at public schools. They are FORCED to go there. Its the law.

You so want me to be a bad guy don't you? You say we agree to disagree. What in the heck are we disagreeing on? Do you think all Winnfield fans are bad people? That's a bit of an overgeneralization isn't it. I try to stay out of the mud slinging. You don't know me yet you say you know I side with the Principal of Winnfield Sr. High School. I am capable of independent thought. If you dislike Winnfield fans, the Winnfield football program or the Winnfield Principal that is your choice. Call me crazy but I like high school football an I like stats. I respect John Curtis, Jr. and if there is something fishy about that so be it.

So do you agree or disagree with Winnfield's principal? I am under the impression you agree. And I never said Winnfield had bad people. If you accuse me of making assumptions, you shouldn't beg the question that I believe that Winnfield folk are all bad people.
