STFU idiot. Have you measured the distance between the drowning kids' location and the Chennault golf course clubhouse where the nearest phone was located?
Who the hell is talking about a phone, dipshit? If you're gonna talk smack, please do so on the basis of what I actually wrote.

Not at all. Half the people who watched the short asked the same question in their head. I turned out to be the a-hole who wrote it. So be it.

Somebody else opined that maybe the water didn't appear that deep and he didn't realize it was over his head. I think that's a pretty plausible answer. All I'm saying is that if he couldn't swim, he wasn't going to be able to save the kids, and so diving in after them only results in him dying along with them. Nobody wins there.
I think it must suck to be you and have such a selfish/shitty outlook on life...

Dude wasn't going to stand watch while 3 kids drown in the pond and he went in to save them, fully knowing he was risking his own life in doing so. For you to be critical of that decision shows complete selfishness on your behalf.

But he couldn't swim. How did he think he was going to save kids?
It's called courage. Look it up.

So far you're the only one in this thread not willing to drown themselves in a failed attempt to save some kids. You're a horrible person!

Seems legit..
Seriously, what probably happened is he didn't think the water would be that deep, but credit to him for having the courage to do what he did while being fully aware he couldn't swim. He knew there was a risk, but knew he could never live with himself anyway if he ran for help and they died or if he did nothing at all. Joe died because of his courage but he a left a permanent mark on all who knew him and hundreds of thousands that didn't. In the end that's as good as you can hope for in this life, to be remembered well after you're gone.
