Well it's about damn time. Front loaded deal with $50 Million paid in first 2 seasons. JD can opt out after those 2 seasons if he wishes.

He’ll probably be trash after those two seasons anyway.

They still won’t catch the Astros or Yanks

So is Bradley the odd man out there?

Gotta think they might try Martinez at DH.

Then again they might not, though. Bradley wasn’t spectacular from the plate

He's 30, so you're probably right.

No, Mooreland, JD, and Hanley will all probably bounce around, and JD will get OFs days off.

The Astros of course not. I think they have a decent chance to win the AL East again over the Yankees though.

Meh if Sale and Price can stay healthy they are a serious threat. That lineup is really good and they’ve got Kimbrel leading the bullpen

It can never be overstated that once you get to the playoffs, it’s basically a crapshoot

Obviously a slight disadvantage if you’ve gotta play in wild card game cause you most likely wouldn’t have your ideal rotation set up, but even NYY was 1 game from winning the pennant last year doing it

That entire lineup slumped for large portions last year. If Mookie, Boegarts, Bradley Jr., and Pedroia hit like their regular selves, that lineup is pretty nasty with Martinez.

What’s a slash line of a regular self Bogaerts and JBJ?

The Yankees had a dreadful record in 1-run games last season, while the Red Sox were like 8 games over .500 in extra inning games alone.

The Yankees were better than the Red Sox last season, and look to be improved. Sure, Boston could win the division, but the Yankees should be a strong favorite.

I think the Yanks start out slow until Giancarlo and Judge get going late. I think they make the wildcard.

Red Sox will need Martinez to stay healthy and for Porcello to find a groove to overcome the Yanks or Indians in the playoffs, let alone a club like the Astros. They got better, though. They needed a power bat and they got one. He just has to stay healthy for them. Beinintendi, Boegarts, Pedroia and Betts all hit for high average and get on base. It will be up to Martinez to drive them in.

Have to think he plays a lot at DH.

they have a really good OF, and are above average defensively, putting martinez in any OF, brings the defense down

Bradley Jr. Is one of the streakiest players I have ever seen. He basically goes from a top 20 hitter in baseball to a bottom 20 hitter in baseball so good call out on me there.

Xander would be a ~.300/.355/.435, pretty close to what's being projected for him by Steamer.
