He just went for 50 in game 7 against Philly. He would have had a much better game here if he didn't hurt his ankle in the first quarter.

Meh, he played 41 minutes last night. Him and Jaylen Brown are mentally weak. Most over rated duo in the league.

Gateman could be great. My take on him is he really does not know what style of play he is going to go to. Sometimes he seems to post up. Sometimes he looks like he wants to take threes and sometimes he looks like he hesitates on his drives. The drives where he slashes to the basket without hesitation he does great. Big disappointment.

My son and I agreed in the first quarter that rolling his ankle when he did created a win/win scenario for him, personally. They go on to win game 7 and he goes down as “overcoming a tough injury to make history by leading his team back to win a series from a 3-0 deficit and put them in the finals”. They lose game 7 and you get today’s headlines, “because of a first quarter injury, Tatum was ‘a shell of himself’, and as hard as he fought, it was too much to overcome. The loss is not on him at all.”

The Celtics should have never lost this series. Tatum and Brown can be great, then they can completely let you down. Flip a coin at tip.

Tell your autocorrect that’s a strange take.

Tatum is just another flopping bitch. The NBA trying to make him the face of the league and showing his commercials while he's actually choking in-game was pretty hilarious during these playoffs though.

Are there those who think he is some incredible player? He's obviously all star level good but do people say he is a top 5 player?

Tatum still super young. We're in the first chapters of his story.

The problem is that it's really difficult to win a NBA title without a top 30 all-time great player. Giannis is a top 30 player. Kawhi when healthy is a top 30 player of all-time. Dirk, KG and Wade were top 30 players. Curry, LeBron, Duncan, and Kobe are unquestionably among the top 15 players of all-time.

Tatum's young but he's also been in the league for six years. All of the players that I mentioned made the leap to being transcendent all-time great players by their sixth year in the league. Tatum hasn't shown that yet. If Tatum can't take that next step as a player, it doesn't matter who the coach is or who the second best player on the team is, the Celtics won't win anything.

Jayson Tatum padding his stats at the end of the all star game is when he was exposed to me.

The dude is not a leader. Who is the leader on the Celtics? cause it's no one on the team or in the locker room. Coach isn't even a leader.

Don't understand how there can be any excuse to get blown out on your own court in a 7th game. They had all the momentum in the world and they weren't in this. You can talk about Tatum and Brown forever, but Marcus Smart is a DPOY and his spirit and dogged personality on the court in a game like this just wasn't there.

Something in that locker room isn't close to being right.

Hilariously dumb take that will be bumped.

He’s 25 years old. He’s overrated because the couldn’t carry the injured Celtics on a bad ankle?

The sixth man of the year couldn’t play, Jaylen Brown has five stitches on his shooting hand, and Danilo Galinari tore his ACL before the season started.

This team did awesome bringing it back to 7 games with all the injuries they had. Tatum’s ankle sealed the deal of beating the Heat.

Finished 4th in MVP voting this year, 6th last year.

I think most people think of him as a top 10 player definitively and fringe top 5, which is probably about right.

Outside of Giannis, Jokic, and Steph I’m not sure who people would have filling out the rest of the top 5. I think the argument can be made for a lot of different players. Probably Embiid 4th? 5th could go to a few options but I think Tatum is definitely one of them.

Herro and Love are completely down and they are starters. Victor Oladipo is out for the season coming off the bench. Jimmy Butler had to fight through a badly turned ankle. Gabe Vincent missed game 5 with a turned ankle.

Miami is an 8th seed that is badly wounded and still went into Boston and took their lunch money.

Are we really comparing Tyler herro (who they Heat play better without, and who’s injury opened the door from an all time performance by Caleb Martin) to injuries to two all NBA players and the sixth man of the year? Kevin Love is completely washed. That’s a joke.

The Heat got lucky with Giannis falling on his back or they lose that series in 5 games. They lose to the Celtics in 5 games as well if they’re healthy. Even with Brogdon out and Jaylen at 60% they would’ve lost in 7 to Boston had Tatum not lost his ankle on the first play of the game.

Possible. I would go with most inconsistent 0player. Most overrated is James harden. The biggest tease the league has ever seen.
