Rivers kept playing on a torn ACL

Might not be an ACL. Who knows, but if he can't plant when he throws, there's no use in him playing. Being tough and being effective are two different things. He hurt himself in the first half, tried to play the second, his first throw went into the ground and the team doctor told him to sit.

a torn ACL is not the same thing as a sprain in every instance

You are wrong, a "torn ACL" is a grade 3 sprain.

i edited it. you can sprain but not tear your ACL is what I meant to say. as in all tears ARE sprains, but not all sprains are tears

Correct.
At what point do you draw the line? Even trying to play with a grade 1 sprain of the ACL decreases function to the point where the #2 is now better.

Brady in 02 came out for a knee. Rivers a few years ago came out with a knee and played a week later. Neither got shite for it. Also Cutler was hit more than any other QB this season, so if anyone doesn't think he's tough, they are crazy.

Cause they are racist. MJD would never call out Vick or Vince for coming out a game.

Incorrect.

All sprains are tears, and all tears are sprains. The grade refers to how much of the ligament is torn, with grade 1 being a small amount of fiber and a grade 3 being a complete rupture.

you probably have a valid point, but i like the old school mentality i suppose.. i mean dude walked off on his own power and then just stood up on the sidelines.

it just comes off bad.. cutler looking horrendous all game long doesn't help the opinions forming.. but it's only that.. opinions.

Its not just coming out that he is getting criticized for. He was sulking on the sidelines like a little bitch rather than donning a headset, looking over plays and encouraging the backup.

no. you can stretch the ligament, even slightly, without tearing it

I'll take Hanie over an injured, ineffective Cutler every single time.
