Shaq was an insane beast on the court no doubt but it's no secret that he was a lazy shite. He was coming into camp out of shape, never really worked to improve weaknesses in his game, would schedule surgery right before the start of the year so he could "heal on company time" and was in general an arse that purposely antagonized Kobe when he should have been the vet who knew better.

How many rings does Kobe win without Shaq?

What the hell does that matter? We can't say b/c we have no idea what the roster would have been. That doesn't change that Shaq was lazy and childishly fueled the feud w/Kobe.

Exactly, that's why I said he has some bad tendencies. Shaq has always acted like a big kid that doesn't take things too seriously, even his profession. He still had great ability and probably could've really pushed for the greatest player if his work ethic would have been on par with MJs.

Well yeah, but the 00-02 run Shaq won Finals MVP all three years. So maybe he loafed a little during the regular season, but so did Allen Iverson(PRACTICE?!?!), the entire Spurs team the last 10 years, D Wade this year, and Lebron every year until he gets what he wants.. Shaq was a big dude, and unless you're that tall and carry that much weight, you have no idea about the wear and tear on his joints. Hell, I'm 5'11 180ish, and in the winter time the knee I had surgery on 10 years ago creaks like a bitch. So excuse me for thinking it's ok for Shaq to take it easy from time to time.

It isn't like Shaq wasn't showing up on the court. Kobe Issues with Shaq were probably more of jealously. It always appeared Shaq was the one liked by his fellow teammates and not Kobe.

That still doesn't change that he was lazy and needlessly acted like child regarding Kobe which led to the Kobe/Shaq combo being broken up prematurely. Kobe was pissed that Shaq didn't practice hard or take care of his body and instead of acting like professional Shaq chose to act like a clown.

That doesn't mean he wasn't a great player but it is what stopped him from being in the GOAT conversation.

Shaq didn't need to practice hard when he got to LA. He was already a proven All NBA player, then proceeded to lead LA to 3 titles while winning Finals MVP, one league MVP and 3 All Defensive 2nd teams.

Shaq still brought it on the court consistently. He had a very long and productive career for a big man. I don't know if I necessarilly would side with Kobe and he suffered for his actions. He wasn't doing shite until Gasol came in and helped lead the best front court in the league at that time.

Kobe was so mad he was Shaq's sidekick.

I don't get the hate for Shaq. I feel fortunate to have been able to watch him completely dominate the game in his prime. Dudes always been light hearted and the shite w/ Kobe was prob deserved. As for him being lazy I can agree w/ the statement made here that it has to be difficult to sustain as long as he did at that size. McGee is a semi retarded mfer that should be happy that his name is even mentioned in the news. Shaq diesel getting disrespected by that clown deserves an open handed slap.

If Shaq wants to slap the shite out of someone, he needs to become a mma fighter. Maybe McGee should have told him to EAD a long time ago.

The Inside the NBA crew have been doing this for 17 years...they know what they're doing. Meanwhile ESPN. Gotta find a new crew every single year and steal TNT's style

Keeping UP With the Kardashians has been doing it for 13 years & they know what they are doing.

No need to always cater to the lowest common denominator(Yeah Yeah they won Emmys).

Shaq is a First ballot HOFer & I just don't understand the years long obsession with a guy now playing less than 10 mpg.

Kobe "suffered"

)Shaq did not get along with Penny in Orlando & bashed
the City after he was gone.

Did not get along with Kobe & even disrespected Dr Buss.

Got into feuds with Riley & DWade in Miami .

Burned bridges in Phoenix before he was traded.

All of it was Kobes fault
