Jason Witten: Best old school, all-around TE

Gonzalez was great... As a receiver
Gronk is Gronk... Helluva threat
But Jason Witten's longevity, toughness, grittiness as both a pass catcher and down dirty run and pass blocker is often underrated in the All-Time tight end conversation. Played with a broken jaw as a rookie just because. Gives zero damns about playing with a busted nose and a helmet. Is a clutch target when needed by Room.
For my money, and yes I am biased, I think he is building/has built a solid HOF resume. Not even counting his charity/off the field/Payton Man of the Year efforts.

Whatever helps you deal with that choke yesterday.

No brainier HOF to me. One of the best all around TEs ever. Great blocker. Great receiver. Great leader. Tough as nails.

Read the other forum... This has nothing to do with the king of "analytics" and coaching "percentages" Lyle Jones or yesterday.
Witten is under appreciated as heck in the overall TE picture as far as longevity and career stats. He leads the Cowboys in almost all receiving categories, second in TE completions and yards, and he blocks with the best of em.

He will probably wind up with better career numbers than Sharpe, and he played with some shitty QBs the first few years of his career. He's in

Witten is great but Don't be a dumb frick and downplay tony Gonzales and Gronk who are both better than witten. You lose credibility and come off as a homer

At least one Vol scored in the 4th quarter this weekend

Gronk is a better run blocker than Witten

He'll be up there with the best all time when it's all said and done.
If I were a betting man, I'd wager that he'll be slightly behind Gronk and ahead of T. Gonzales in the minds of most.

I think witten is awesomw but its a nice gap between him and gronk. Its not a slight lead now or when all is said and done.
I would put gates over witten as well but witten is a bad arse and going behind gronk and gates doesnt take away that

Gronk has as many career TDs as Witten does. True story
In 95 less career games

Witten is great. he has only missed 1 game in his career (2003). that's amazing.
