No one has posted his post BCS interview?

Rinaldi: Jameis, with 1:15 to go in this game, final drive, what did you tell your teammates around you?

Winston: I said, guys, we didn’t come here for no reason. I said, guys, this is ours, man. All the adversity we went through the first few quarters, it was ours to take. And like I’ve been saying, we control our own destiny. And those men looked me in my eye and they said, ‘We got this, Jameis.’ And I said … we said … I said, ‘Are you strong?’ They said, ‘I’m strong if you strong.’ I said, ‘We strong, then.’”

If we judged every male's intelligence by the decisions they made between 18 and 21 years old, there would be no smart males, fwiw.

You could say the same for standardized testing as well, especially if you don't test well.

I don't remember Stanford being mentioned in his recruiting. Alabama and Florida State...

From 2012:

quote:

AUSTIN, Texas -- For months, Jameis Winston has been hearing everyone from national recruiting analysts to the locals in Hueytown, Ala., speculate that the nation's No. 1 quarterback will either stick with Florida State or flip and sign with Alabama. And for months, a third program has flown under the radar, one that never stopped recruiting Winston after he committed: Stanford. Winston told ESPN on Sunday while in Austin, Texas, for the International Bowl, that he is still seriously considering signing with the Cardinal. On Saturday, Stanford coach David Shaw called Winston's father to confirm Winston has been admitted into the school should he choose to sign there.

Being book smart doesn't mean you have common sense.

I agree. I think that he just wanted everyone to know that he'd been accepted at Stanford.

Just responding to the crab legs... They were not given to him. That is pure spin. I know very well the doings of Publix and yes they were "given" to him as they "give them to everyone who walks up. All people must still pay before leaving the store.

He strikes me as a book smart, reality dumb type of guy who's able to be persuaded to do dumb shite.

Dumb people do not get accepted into Stanford. Less than genius people do, but you cannot convince me they accept less than slightly above average.

Yeah...if you think Pro Football might not pan out, hard pressed to find many other schools above Stanford that would give you a great life.

Is there anything preventing him from graduating from Stanford? He doesn't have a degree yet, right?

I had a 4.0 in HS and 98th percentile on SAT and did not get accepted at Stanford
I was not a 5-star QB however
