plus didn't lucas come out and call JR the laziest guy ever after they split up?

it was reported that Lucas essentially "fired" JR, but Lucas refuted it.

I think saying you want to come back then admitting you are 305lbs is prob not the way to go. Why not lose weight then announce comeback.

yeah that's what I was thinking. of all those ppl advising him, why isn't someone doing some PR? who the hell lets the 305 number even get out there?

so you're down from 320 to 305, 305 is still awful. hell say he was 320 but is down to 285 if you gotta say anything.

I don't see him coming back. I'd be happy for him if he pulled it off, but I'm not betting on it. The dude had ability, he was just lazy. I don't think lazy can be fixed.

JaMarcus Russell made Jon Gruden quit, is he capable of doing more than that.

I'm gonna go out on a limb and say that this cat's playing days in the NFL are over. One must possess a triple digit IQ to play qb at that level...

Really sucks that he's our only #1 pick.

Billy Cannon says "Hi!"

He was drafted #1 overall by the Rams in '60 but signed with Bud Adams and the Oilers of the AFL instead.

what about staying heavy and converting to offensive lineman? Feasible?

I wonder if Moffit would take him under his wing?

He probably needs to get as far away from the gulf south as he can though IMO

He is still young enough and talented enough to make a roster spot in the NFL but he needs to get serious.

I don't get why a solid trainer wouldn't lock himself on to Russell with a contract with nothing up front but a percentage when signs a deal.

There is absolutely no reason why he shouldn't be on an NFL roster at the minimum. His work ethic must be atrocious, and he basically must have just given up on ever being productive forever.

If someone cooked his meals for him, and worked him out they would get paid.

If he's broke, that would be a good deal. If he still has money left, no way I'd trust him to ever get motivated at this point.

Brett Favre is among the players who have played NFL football more recently than Russell.

Good luck though..
