You don't think Gwynn would have hit .400 in Cobb's time?

one guy hit .338 for his career and the other hit .366. the 28 point difference is several orders of magnitude more impressive
In no way am I trying to compare the two overall. Its Cobb by a large margin. But Ryno said that gwynn was just a ba type hitter as was Cobb. No matter in the difference in #'s.

Well that clears things up.

he also drove in runs, scored runs, and stole bases
everything that gwynn did, Cobb did it better

You are wasting your breath on this guy.

Cobb also played when the league had 16 teams with no blacks or Latinos.
Let's have some context here.
Also, stolen bases has nothing to do with hitting and OBP doesn't tell the whole story on hitting

It's Bonds and it's not even close

By a large margin. I agree here. And in no way is gwynn top ten all-time as far as hitters. Was Ricky Henderson a singles hitter who stole bases or a power hitter that scored a ton of runs?

Ricky doesn't understand your question. Ricky also doesn't like your tone. Please ask Ricky again nicely

He's in the conversation for sure. What about Rod Carew? Tony was a better hitter, but Rod Carew is in the group, IMO.

Bonds before or after the robocop armor and roids?
Posted on 6/17/14 at 8:24 am to cubsfan5150
Either. Steroids don't make you put the bat on the ball as squarely as he did. And the pitchers were juicing too
Posted on 6/17/14 at 8:30 am to Thib-a-doe Tiger
Doesn't hgh improve eye sight?
There's no doubting he was 10x better after the roids and armor.
