I'll sort of ruin the thread by saying he reminded me of someone half way between Jordan and LeBron-- not that he'd have been all of that, but that his game was that of a bigger slasher, who didn't have quite the polish of Jordan. He wouldn't muscle guys like LeBron does now, but he had NBA superstar written all over his game. A different comparison to a kid who would have been his contemporary, would be to say that he would have been Scottie Pippen with less defense but a far better offensive game. As a Celtics fan, even close to 30 years later, it leaves a sick feeling in the pit of my gut to just think back to what should have been.

I grew up watching him. I lived and died by those Terp teams which, we should remember, finished sixth in the ACC in his senior year. He was more of a frontcourt player than Jordan, and he was more often compared to Worthy (who, at the time, was considered a better player than Jordan).
But he was unbelievably good. Remember Reggie Miller's quick 6 points against the Knicks? Yeah, Bias did pretty much the same thing against Carolina. He was just unstoppable, and he willed Maryland to its first ACC tourney title in seemingly forever, back when that meant something.
He was wildly inconsistent, and seemed to take small games off, but when the big lights turned on, he turned it on. He could do anything near the basket. But he was more Durant than LeBron.
