We all know that the left finds the church's history to be highly problematic; iirc people were whining about teams called 'the Crusaders." At this point I wouldn't even care much, but it will be interesting if Gayle puts up a fight (I'm guessing she won't)

No. Nothing is safe. There's always offense to be found.

No the Saints and Catholicism played a big part in the eradication of native Americans in early American history.

Cowboys are also in trouble. We killed a lot of native Americans.

very few are Catholics outside of Louisiana though

Most black Christians and about half of all African Americans (53%) are associated with historically black Protestant churches, according to the study. Smaller shares of African Americans identify with evangelical Protestantism (14%), Catholicism (5%), mainline Protestantism (4%) and Islam (2%).

What? Catholic missionaries largely saved and served native populations in North and central America well before the colonists ever arrived. They baptized the natives to prevent them from being taken as slaves.

Read Carol Delaney’s Columbus and the Quest for Jerusalem for real history and not some new age revisionists take.

I mean, sure they can say they are at a higher clip than white people and Latinos. But just because you say you are doesn’t mean shite to me.

They brought disease and killed thousands in a land they had no business visiting.

Try again, pal.

Not to mention how misogynistic and homophobic the Church is historically

Weddings, going to church etc

You realize they also brought diseases back to Europe? You realize the natives were killing each other in even more brutal ways before the west arrived? You realize the long-term affect was prosperity and less blood rituals? You realize if it wasn’t Columbus someone else would have been arriving soon, just a matter of when?

Side note. Columbus loved the natives, even adopted one as his son, begged Spain to send missionaries sooner but they kept sending waves of those who would volunteer and they werent often the best people. Columbus has little control over these men. They hated Columbus so much for advocating for the natives that they chained Columbus up and sent him back to Spain at one point.

Columbus became a Franciscan monk in between his second and third voyage.

All that over the top shite they do in church means nothing.

Episcopalians (diet Catholicism) and Anglicans have Saints too. American Protestants have a strong history of anti-Catholicism

You are missing the joke. I am using talking points of retards on twitter.

Everything is racist and everything needs to be burned down according to them.
