Is the MLBPA not as strong as before?

They conceded stiffer penalties for luxury tax violators which will make those teams hesitant to spread, they also conceded a hard cap for international pool money which means no more massive bonuses for future players from Latin countries.

Ken rosenthal and Buster olney have written about how this new cba will impact player salaries negatively and could cause work stoppage in 2021

This on top of giving the commissioner discretion to punish off the field issues as he sees fit ala Goodell.

They seem more approachable now that Fehr is no longer the head of the union. Fehr although I despised him, was perfect for what they needed him for.

I think it sickened a ton of players that Chapman was only suspended for that long.

I've read where the players have also expressed that they want stronger drug policies. How true that is remains to be seen.
