He wasn't a front end of the rotation guy. That's a fact. He has been much better but still gets into trouble sometimes with pitch counts. He appears to have a working cutter now as well which is good. He needed to get away from relying on his. 4 seam. still think the better long term player is in the minors in that trade for you all.

It's still may though man. Are you really judging the long term value of a trade after a 6 weeks? He wouldn't be true ace on any contenders right now. It's also funny that you think it bothers cards fans. Congrats on the trade "win" at the 6 week Mark

he wasn't, but the point all along was that he was young and had front end stuff.

He hasn't gotten out of the 5th in 1/4 of his starts and the 6th in half.

Im sorry you dont realize thats an issue for a staff ace on a contender.

I wish we still had him given the injury to wainwright. I'm not that guy who will deny that because of some perceived buttnhurt.

Come on now Kershaw has failed to go 7 innings in 6 of his 8 starts.... in today's specialized pitching all you need is 6 innings....

He is doing great but sometimes a change in scenery helps. You cannot assume he'd be doing the same if he stayed. Given events this year so far does loo like the cards could have really used him.

Last four starts:

7 ip
9 ip
7 ip
9 ip

Damn, the bullpen must be exhausted from those four innings they had to throw in the last three weeks of Shelby Miller starts!!!

To be fair, kershaw is getting frick luck and that's why he isn't going 7. You need to go 7 in a decent amount of starts

teams are hitting him better than ever before... .251 avg/.305 OBP/.390 slugging..... He is also walking more people per 9/innings than ever before... I mean last year he walked 31 total over 198 innings and he has 14 walks through 51 innings so far....

he has had the second highest K/BB ratio of his career and has a FIP of 2.72 and an xFIP at 2.19. he isnt always going to have a BABIP of .349 and a HR/FB at fricking 18.5%

last year was one of the greatest single seasons in the history of professional pitching. i dont think hell ever do that again

He had that bookmarked. That's how Braves fans work here. I still think his low is a 3-4 type guy and his ceiling is a #2.

It still May and Braves fans are pulling up bookmarks from the offseason in attempts at claiming trade win and playing the "gotcha" game.

Like I said before when the trade was made the real gem might be Jenkins when it's all said and done.

Come on man...just admit you were wrong. Takes a bigger man to do that than it does to moonwalk all around reality.

Im not afraid to admit I'm wrong if that ends up being the case at all. I'm not like that what so ever.

Can we wait until the seasons over to digest the trade? I mean, its 6 weeks and people are in this thread comparing Miller to Kershaw for crying out loud.

Miller Starts (8) vs opponents/record:

Miami x3 (16-22)
Philadelphia x2 (16-23)
Toronto (17-22)
Reds x2 (18-20)

Miller: FIP 3.42
xFIP 3.71
BABIP .203

Lets just let the season play out and we can revisit the topic.
