Wilson has one of the great defenses of all-time, Luck has about four other players on his team who should be starting in the NFL.
If you put Andrew Luck on last year's Seattle team, it might be the most dominant team in history. The fact that he has his team in the divisional round is actually pretty amazing.

Wilson averages about 300 yds per game between running and passing. They lean on him a pretty good amount...
he averages 270 between passing and rushing.
Luck averages 314 yards a game passing and rushing
I think QB get way too much credit.
The QB of a team that has a running game like that, and a defense like that is not worth 20 mill as a smart long term move. I don't think what he brings is irreplaceable.

That contract will end Seattle's defensive dominance.
They've still got some good players under cheap contracts for the next few seasons. They'll be fine.
He's not the best player in the NFL, but he'll get it. Probably deserves it given his age and production. His defense takes a lot of pressure off of him, but he's never had a lot of talent around him on offense. Lynch is a stud, but he's produced with a makeshift OL and the best WR he's ever had was probably Golden Tate. I'm pretty locked in on the NFL and I couldn't name a single WR on his team right now. Yet he still produces.

Are you this dense?
He throws that many INTs because he is literally all the Colts has. He forces balls trying to make plays because he knows if he doesn't nobody will.
You really think he'd try and fit all those balls into double coverage if he had an elite defense?

Get off that Stanford cock dude, he's no Russell Wilson

He is already in Seattle. If he is does not get a new huge contract who will they replace him with instead. Some teams have been trying forever to find a competent QB.
pay him competent QB money, but do you think he is the BEST QB in the NFL?
he threw for under 200 yards more often than he threw for over 200 yards.
1ist in rushing
1st in Passing Defense
3rd in Rushing defense
27th in passing yards.
He isn't irreplaceable. A 20 mill a year contract is hard to get around for a team.

Well guys like Romo and Ryan got $20 mil a year, so why not Wilson?

thats a leap.
you think the #1 defense will miss the playoffs?
If they find a serviceable QB they are in the playoffs.
What is their offense going to be when Marshawn lynch retires?
Russell wilson is good. he is a top 10 QB in the league. But the rest of the team will be worse if you handcuff it with that kind of contract.
Seattle without Wilson is better off than Wilson without seattle.

So you want to take the chance on finding another guy to manage the team at QB? Be my guest. I doubt the GMs in the NFL want to mess with the QB position when they have a good thing going.

That's what it will come down to. And with the rising salary cap, 20 million a year for your QB is doable.

That's irrelevant these days. QBs are getting paid at a premium .
Think about how many "competent" there are in the NFL

He is not worth it. His contract will destroy the team. When the defensive coordinator leaves, along with the big defensive players, and it is just Russell, it will be a great fall from grace.

You're crazy and don't watch them play often. He has won multiple games this season by himself. Then he does what he does with average receivers. Put him with an elite receiver like some of the other quarterbacks he is being compared to and watch what he does.
