That interview with that ESPN guy was quite depressing, at least to my way of thinking.

The frick? I saw a charlatan just repeatedly playing the "God" card to try to run a blatantly transparent PR campaign. Only thing depressing was that Bilas was allowing that sleazeball spit his bullshite unchecked.

I think that's what the OP means. Pitino was great and now he's decrepit looking, pathetic, and desperately trying to get people to believe his bullshite just so he'll leave any sort of positive legacy.

He’s trying to pull a Jim Valvano and claim he was fired for bullshite reasons.

The only reason it worked for Jimmy V was that he died of cancer afterward and his then-employer, ESPN, named a courage award after him.
