Is this new playoff format better for the private and Catholic schools in basketball?

Not this year, daryljames30. The entire district is flat mediocre. You've now Holy Cross, Brother Martin and St. Augustine in the same basic neighborhood, with fewer basketball feeders.

Crusaders lost at Conlin to Curtis, and it wasn't close, lost in O.T. to Rummel at home, then blew Jesuit the hell out of they gym, by 23. Very inconsistent, this year, with only Rummel and St. Augustine in the top 32.

Dumbest decision ever made by the LHSAA.

A state that has approx 300 high schools is going to have 12 champions per sport.

Will not be surprised to see some private schools break away now. The 30-40 largest private high schools should form their own association.

All 102 that voted against the split should leave, if they're of a mind to do so.
30-40 would still be too small of an organization, in my view.

The entire Catholic is down this year. Overall, the league has not performed up to the usual standard.

Adios. Easy way to bring it back down to 5 state champions.

St. Pauls lmao. No. Take a look at that schedule not the record. Also BM and Rummel fields starting 5 of football players who are mediocre basketball players. You can tell they don't invest in the basketball programs anymore.

Depends on what 30-40. If it's the largest schools, it could work. It would also suck a lot of money and sponsorships ou of the LHSAA.

I haven't seen the vote breakdown, but my guess is some of the 102 that voted against it are select public schools, and them leaving is probably more politically difficult.
