is it fair to judge individual players based off of team success

I feel like it has more merit in basketball than other sports but still no one can win a championship with no talent around them. Yet we love to measure success or lack there of by the number of rings someone has. Most will say Brady and Montana are the 2 greatest qbs of all time simply because of there playoff record, but that is really just the luck of being able to play for 2 of the greatest coaches of their respected era's.

No it's stupid. Judge players by performance not team results

Only in basketball, IMO. And it's still not completely fair.
Stupid to do for football and baseball.

Life isn't fair. I feel terrible for the participation crew entering the workforce

It's not really fair or logical.

Agreed, it's ridiculous. QB's get too much blame and too much credit. Look at Brady in the SB against Seattle. He was on the sidelines for that crucial final play.

No. Or more to the point, it can be on the list, but very low and far down on the list of things to view when judging individual talent.
My favorite is the guy who chimes in with the "check the rings" argument, but then when comparing any other 2 players, all of a sudden the rings aren't as valuable. It's just an easy thing to point to when you like a certain guy with a bunch of rings, it's lazy thinking basically.

I can see it have a little bump but we are talking 2% at most.

To be fair, it can be argued that 4th quarter was just balls out amazing.

You should look at the entire picture when judging a player. Part of that is postseason play and his impact on championship teams.
