Is Coach O the man with the best chance to try to end the Saban/Bama dynasty?

Seems to me the best way to stop Bama is for them to lose 1-2 SEC games making it difficult for them to get into the playoffs. We can't keep relying on OSU or Clemson to beat them on the big stage. This leads me to LSU.

LSU certainly has the talent in most areas to stand up to Bama provided they upgrade the O-line. Defense is fantastic ably led by the great monk, Aranda. Hopefully Canada can dial up an offensive scheme with a few back up plans so that LSU doesn't get shut out again if plan A doesn't work.

I think 2017 will tell us if LSU can stop the Bama juggernaut or if the dynasty keeps rolling. I hope it's the former for college football's sake.

Posting this on the MSB to get a perspective from other fan bases, not just SEC renters.

They said this about Urban, Miles, Malzahn, Freeze in succession. They were all dispatched. Of course they actually did beat Saban a time or two

People will laugh at this thread, but maybe he can beat Bama if Canada is a really good OC. LSU actually has elite talent on defense and can stand toe to toe with Bama. Nick Saban is just tGOAT, and you must have excellent QB play to beat him.

No one can end it except father time ending Saban in 10 years

The only team that is close to being able to match Bama in terms of recruiting (overall talent of players), funding (facilities, wads of cash of recruits, etc), and coaching is OSU, and they just got shut out. They aren't even close to where they need to be.

Bama is better than every program in the country in every measurable category and the train isn't stopping. They've had like 5? straight top 2 recruiting classes. Their coach is consensus the best in the country. They have more talent and more of a winning pedigree than anyone. Their program will soon have the most players in the NFL. They are producing top NFL draft picks at an unprecedented rate. This will just make all of these qualities even better for them.

Unless Saban dies or retires they will win 8-9 of the next 10 IMO

Lsu is the obvious team in the sec.

Coach O is not the coach though.

The game passes everyone by at some point. A coach will come and knock him off his perch. No coach gets to ride off into the sunset on top.

The problem is bad ADs think what you do, that no one can beat Saban so why even try, right? We just all have to wait it out until he gets tired of winning championships. Some coach will do it and it'll likely be someone that LSU had a shot at getting if they had an AD with any vision.

LSU has the best chance of anyone in the SEC to dethrone Saban, but it actually has little to do with Coach O.

It actually has to do with this:

And this:

But if you want to know who has the best chance outside of the SEC, it's this crazy bastard:
