Pro or college.

The man does work.

And a pioneer in padding your early schedule with cupcakes to build confidence and ranking.

Eastern Kentucky, Kent St., Missouri St., UMass, Tennessee Tech, Montana St., Illinois St., E. Illinois, and McNeese State all agree with this...

Didn't we have this thread last season? How many times do we have to discuss the merits and demerits of Snyder's career?

Here's the thread:

-He built KState from nothing!

-He only played cupcakes!

-Look at his coaching tree!

-JUCO JUCO JUCO!

-Manhattan KS is the Little Apple!

-Shitty conference!

There, done. Move on, unless it's to comment on the guitar playing wildcat from the KState hype videos.

he's got to be

K state was garbage, and I mean GARBAGE before he came along. NO ONE wanted to go there, player or coach. It had no history and he was a double OT loss away from playing for the national championship in 98.

He loaded up on JUCO's and playing cupcakes to get wins early and often, building team confidence. he took players who were recruited at other positions at other schools and let them play where they wanted. Baloo is right, he's a genius

He definitely knows what he's doing. He figured out a formula for success at a school in a state with little talent and little draw for recruits.

Cupcakes + JUCO's + Conservative run heavy, defense oriented gameplan = a lot of wins at a school that should be struggling to be 6-6

Don't forget, he also introduced the Powercat logo (which is a ripoff of Iowa), but still. He made his team more intimidating with that.

K-state had Oregon this year until he took over. Smart move by him.

What has he really done? One big 12 title?

He took a program with four winning seasons and eight winless seasons since WWII to a Big 12 title. From 1993-2003, KSU only had one year in which it did not win 9 games (he won 11 games six times). His level of success is like if James Franklin didn't just go to a bowl at Vandy, but competed for the SEC title for a decade.

What he has done at KSU is nothing short of a football miracle. He took without a doubt the worst program in a major conference and turned them into a national power.

i knew i heard that somewhere before

Think about that.

TWICE as many seasons without winning a SINGLE game than seasons with a winning record

that the definition of futility

they are still like 2nd or 3rd in all time losses in FBS too

you can't really bag on his schedule bc to win that many games in the big XII, you eventually have to beat a Texas or OU or Colorado or Nebraska (at the time)

if they had divisions there now he'd take over the North again

They'd also been winless for 27 straight games when he took over

His predecessor won 2 games in three years. Jim dickey, the coach before that, had 23 wins in eight seasons. For a four year period, Snyder won 11 games a year, winning 22 games every two years. It's staggering what he did there.

Currently underrated coach? Jim Grobe.

Snyder is my favorite coach of all-time. It's hard to adequately state how bad KSU was when he took over. Statistically they were the losingest program of all-time in D1 college football.

All the JUCO/cupcake nonsense is just that, nonsense. The guy is a genius.
