I would say so, considering that he has done what he has done in the Free agency era.
You have to give a lot of credit to the coach too though.

I think Belichick the coach makes Belichick the GM look better than he actually is. I'd probably say the best GM right now is Ozzy Newsome.

Sometimes Belichick does stupid shite just because he can (picking borderline UDFAs in the second round, trading all pro talents for picks, trading Richard Seymour which really cost them).

and cooks the dinner. Fyi the Patriots used a 2015 6th round pick on TE AJ Derby, traded him a year later for a 2017 5th rounder, then traded that for Mike Gillislee.

He traded for the right to pay Mike Gillisee. I think it'll work out, but let's not act like it was a steal.

that's how trades work mate. Players sign contracts and you trade picks to teams for that player and you pay them the money they're owed from the contract they signed

Is that impressive? He's rushed for 850 yards in 3 seasons

He's one of the best backups in the league who can shine on the Patriots.

Newsome has an outdated method in today's NFL. He hasn't adjusted to the new CBA and the importance of infusing young talent.

Oh cmon, there's a difference between trading for a guy like Cooks who is still on his rookie contract and a guy being paid market value.

I'm excited. I'm also interested to see how Belichick handles all these RBs.

The patriots draft smart players who fit their system, and most of them stay as long as the patriots want them to.
