After the fight, Nunes is tweeting out some funny pics about beating Rousey and this is a bit of a departure from her normal humble demeanor. Is this a mistake? Will it start to breed some resentment of her attitude among other fighters? This seems to be the kind of behavior that a lot of people resented about Rousey.

Bruce Buffer is the funniest part.

Rousey needs to fire her coach immediately.

It's hilarious when 130 lb women act like bad asses.

I think Rousey was 100% ready, within her limits and the limits of that loser coach she's stuck with. But as I said in another thread: she's not a striker and she doesn't have the skills to defeat one.

I think these pics are a bad move for Nunes. She can easily become the villain in addition to being the champ. Everyone knows the deal - the game passed Rousey by but there wouldn't be a game without her. Nunes needs to pull those tweets and go back to being humble. The attention she gets now will be enough to deal with. She doesn't need to answer for poking fun at Rousey, the one person responsible for establishing women's MMA.

Same with the men at that weight, when the security guys are picking them up with one arm to keep them separated.

On the other side of the coin, she becomes a bigger draw if she becomes the villain that everyone wants to see fight. 3 mill payout vs 100k, being a media draw is what gets you to the 3 mill side of that split.

That's a good point but I think she's a 0 draw if she's not the champ. She's now the champ and has beaten the two 'darlings', Tate and Rousey. She's going to make bank now. Still, good point though.

Based on what? She isn't a draw and that's the only thing that makes bank. Connor should hold the ufc hostage, he is the only marketable star they have now.

She has a lot of credibility now. She's going to draw some fans. She can't prop up a PPV on her own like Conor, but no one on the planet can do that except Conor. You need a sanity check if you're comparing anyone on the women's side to Conor.

They can market Amanda based on her skills and that she's defended and beaten the two darlings, back to back. She's as marketable as anyone else in that division. Holly Holm is going to 145. Who else is there? That Russian girl?

She's uglier than Ronda. Unmarketable.

Came here to post similar. Not hot. So she must have to be a villain.

Hot women get the Gina Carrano disease. They realize quickly that the more busted up their faces get, the less they can draw.

Does Carrano do anything now? Commentator? Own a gym?

Amanda seemed pretty genuine in her attitude post fight and post press conference fight.

Not sure you can say that about Ronda.

Yeah, MMA has moved past that now. The good talent gets attention, though a pretty face does sell it better on the women's side. They can still market her.

I think everyone needs to ratchet down the expectations for anyone on the women's side. It's not close to where the men's side is, and especially comparing Conor to anyone on the women's side is a non-starter.
