I won't argue that Alabama, Louisiana, Mississippi are pound for pound the best football producing states. I think it's obvious (along with more populated Georgia, Texas, Cali, Florida), but certain geographical areas produce certains athletes.

I don't think anybody who knows what they're talking about ever really considered Ali the GOAT boxer. Most famous? Absolutely. GOAT at promoting himself? No question. Best in the ring? Nope. Top 5 though probably.

The best boxer was a puppy named chance. Loved that dog. Loved it.

That's beyond retarded... you can make the argument walker was the better RB, but better overall athlete?... Nah.
Watching walker try to hit a major league fastball would be hilarious.

You said Pete Rose twice. John Glenn and Ed O'Neil aren't even athletes

Aside from the first few, that's a pretty lousy list.

Only a few of them can make GOAT arguments.
You listed one guy that was born in Alabama, and another born on a whole nother continent. You didn't notice the theme in my OP?
If we're just listing really good athletes that ever had anything to do with our state that would be a pretty damn long list.
But at least you stuck to athletes unlike that Kentucky bumpkin above you.

Herschel Walker (GOAT CFB back of all time)
Ty Cobb (GOAT MLB Hitter BA wise)
Have a legitimate arguement for all my GOATS...you have an arguement for 1 (Hank Aaron)
OK,I caught the Hines Ward and Holyfield...both were obvoiusly raised but none fit the Goat category anyway.
Lets face facts, without Ga athletes Auburn doesn't sniff an SECC in '10 or '13 and more than likely has Miss Statd or Southern Miss football legacy.

Jesse Owens, Carl Lewis, Willie Mays, and Mia Hamm don't have arguments for GOAT? GTFO
Owens and Lewis are hands down the top 2 track athletes ever.
Mia Hamm is the most famous American soccer player ever.
The 5 years Willie Mays spent in the Negro Leagues aren't taken into consideration and he's still #2 on every list of top baseball players ever, and that 1,2 order remains from back in the day because they wouldn't list a black player best ever over a white player
And I'm sorry bud but Joe Louis>>> Robinson. Dude was the heavyweight world champ for 11 years only giving it up when he retired, and he defended his title more times than any boxer in any weight class in history.
And for the sake of saving argument Bo Jackson is at the least Herschel's equal.

Can't have 2 GOATS in one sport and Hank,Babe,Cobb and Ted Williams were superior to Willie
(Williams also lost 5 years)
Updated GOATS for Georgia,Gonna steal John Hannah (no idea he was from Ga)Also will add Ray Guy-GOAT punter
Hey if you wanna bring up a female soccer player I'll throw in a punter but he was also a damn good athlete.
Very good saftey at Southern Miss and also drated by the Reds out of HS.
