this is one of those instances where he either REALLY knows the market or doesn't know the market at all

I feel bad for him honestly. Can't choose who your parents are
I felt bad for Lonzo at first when his dad kept making all those crazy comments in the media. But I don't feel bad for him anymore. He can easily tell his dad that he wants to hire his own agent and negotiate his own endorsement deals. What's his dad going to do? Lavar has ZERO leverage because if Lonzo tells him to GTFO, then Lavar becomes completely irrelevant.

That's easy to say, but he's 19. You don't know his family dynamics. He also probably feels a larger than normal responsibility to his dad because of how involved he is.
If him and his dad are still on good terms 10 years from now though, then Lavar fooled us all

I don't think the logo is bad but the shoe design sucks imo

In his first NBA game, Lonzo Ball is going to get the shite beat out of him with hidden elbows, errant knees and other cheap shots for crap like this.
He's got pro potential but he's not transcending the sport or some shite. He's already cost himself millions by not signing with Nike, UnderArmor or Adidas. His dad did his job- get the Ball name out there but then should've backed off. I've never wanted a player that's never played in the NBA to fail so badly.

the scary part for Lonzo is that he actually has to wear these shoes in actual NBA games
does anybody trust the design/construction that highly?

No way Lavar has put these shoes through any kind of testing.

I can't wait until the draft when the whole family is outfitted in Big Baller Brand suits and Lavar tries to walk up on the stage with Lonzo.
Posted on 5/4/17 at 3:32 pm to ShaneTheLegLechler
well obviously
someone said he doesn't know the market...a cheap arse sneaker selling for hundreds of dollars to morons doesn't demonstrate an ignorance of consumer demand
whether it fails or succeeds, who knows, but the basic premise sounds familiar

we need to make a bet on how far Lavar gets from the table

God those are hideous.

I know the NFL restricts what brands players can wear for games. Does the NBA do this as well?

What are you talking about? The $500 price tag will take up for the lost millions

players wearing their own shoes is a HUGE deal in the NBA for the players

The entire "big baller brand" sounds like some retarded shite a 7 year old came up with.

You think other players are going to target him because of what his dad says? I'm sure a lot of them relate to an extent if their dads are in their lives.
It's a huge risk just because what Lavar is thinking his son will end up being is extremely difficult to achieve. If he is that type of player though, he wins.
He said he planned this all from day one. He got this far when millions of other parents try to breed pro athletes and fall flat. Really when you think about it, who are any of us to tell him that he doesn't know what he's doing?
I for one hope Lonzo turns out to be great because I think Levar is great TV, and he rankles a lot of people.

Lonzo needs to have a heart-to-heart talk with his father. "Dad, I love you. You raised me. You gave me a home. You took care of me. But you gotta get the frick out of my business."
