I think the point he was getting at is that the kid took Kelly at his word instead of asking the actual doctor himself
But my point is that the kid said the doctor told him he was fine, not just Kelly.

He had an MRI, and Hunt and a team doctor told Randolph it was safe for him to continue playing, the lawsuit said.
That doctor should lose his license and should be forced to pay massive amounts to Randolph.

It only says the team doctor, who could be saying what Kelly wanted.

And team doctors don't tell players shite.

Which is why NFL players started going to independant doctors in the 2000's.

Otherwise, all you got was:

Big time college football programs probably aren't much different.

It's the big issue with concussions right now.

Currently, team doctors are charged with making decisions both routine, like allowing a player to practice or not, and serious, like medical disqualification.

Some team doctors, like Tucker, are not neurological specialists. Tucker is certified only in family medicine, yet he has the final say on all medical disqualifications.

There is an inherent conflict of interest that experts worry about in providing the power to those on a team’s payroll. The conflict could be eliminated, independent doctors and a lawyer said, with the creation of an NCAA-wide policy that requires independent neurologists to assess head injuries.

Figures the Penn State fan sides with the shady coach.

"Relax, little Johhny, Coach Sandusky is just going to hide his dick in your arse for a few minutes. All is fine and dandy. Trust me."

I mean let's let some facts come out before we say Coach Sandusky was a serial kiddie arse raper. Oh, 9 kids have told the same story? Let's wait until some more facts come out before we say Coach Sandusky was a serial kiddie arse raper

Uh, if we got MRIs on everybody on this board probably more than half of them would have spinal stenosis at some level.

Its a subjective term.

And a consequence of being upright

i don't know about you guys, but when i go see a doctor for something serious, the first thing i do is ask my football coach what the results are and not the doctor

He was a dumb college student and trusted Kelly. Seems pretty normal

Could be more to the story. These are allegations. Not hard to imagine it being true, but we don't have the full story either.

That is hard to argue. But if you don't have a certain level of concern when it comes to brain and spinal cord injuries AND you appear to put yourself into the medical process (instead of letting a team doctor operate independently)... you will not like the headlines that break when one of those players inevitably suffers significant injury.

Football is a dangerous enough sport without ignoring medical warning signs.

Brian Kelly has always been known to think of personnel safety above anything else. I can't believe he would do this.

Of course that's possible, but it still negates the post I quoted because that would mean he still heard it from the team doctor.

If a doctor tells you you're fine, what the heck else is he supposed to do? I highly doubt any of us ask our doctors if we could see results of tests that we wouldn't even know what we're looking at, we all take the physician at his word.
