"We're going to start out with Trevor in Game 1, Kluber in Game 2, Carrasco in Game 3 and Tomlin in Game 4," said Francona. "Saying that, we've gotten a little creative with our roster so Tomlin will be available in the bullpen for the first couple of games so the Game 4 starter could change.

Really dumb move that deserves to blow up in Francona's face.

Should at least give himself the option of having Carrasco twice in the series.

Cookie pitches better at away games, and Bauer has been a stud this year. That being said, keep him away from his drone.

This sets up to be a 3 pitcher rotation if they have to burn Tomlin in an early game. Bauer is best pitcher they have on short rest potentially in game 4, Kluber gets full rest for game 5.

There was a really good article in The Athletic that hinted toward this scenario.

You cant truly believe that you are better off with Bauer starting twice or starting Josh Tomlin over starting Carrasco twice.

Thats absolute crazy talk.

Tito has the best "feel" of any manager in the postseason. Let him eat

I love Bauer. Glad he settled down, sorta.

We will get to see his warm up and his scintillating stuff.

Was so impressed in ncaa tournament.

Yeehah!!

I immediately thought, wow, he must be so jacked to be game 1 starter after years of flak.

Bauer has been outstanding since the break. All Tito needs from him is 4-5 innings and he'll turn it over to the bullpen.

Btw - Bauer started Game 1 of the ALDS last year.

Danny Salazar is the X factor for the Tribe. He's arguably the Indians best pitcher when he's healthy. His last couple of starts for the Indians were nasty. With Salazar, Clevinger, Shaw, Miller and Allen coming out of the bullpen, this pitching staff is going to be formidable. The Indians made it to the world series last year without Carasco, Salazar and then Bauer injuring his finger. All 3 are healthy this year!!

That weirdo is pitching fantastic and has bailed him out. Still was a questionable move

Not really.

Kluber is going to pitch one time from Games 1 through 4 anyways. It really doesn't matter whether he pitches game 1 or 2, especially when the Indians overall starting pitching is wayyyyyy better than New York's.

Also, when this series is over in 3 or 4 games, Kluber is good to go Game 1 against Houston.

The issue wasn't not kluber it was carrasco. You have tomlin or bauer starting twice over having the option of carrasco
