One of Grantland's few noteworthy projects.

I remember watching that thinking is this really happening. It was such a surreal moment.

One of the most sobering images I saw of that night was after all of that went down, the cameras showed a little kid crying and being consoled by his mother. That was probably the kid's first NBA game, and that's the memory he'll take away from that.

What a disgraceful night. An absolute embarrassment for the league.

I was 10 and I remember being at a friends house for a birthday party. his parents were watching the game and all of us kids got excited when it went down. ticked his parents off.

Detroit is always a divided racial powderkeg, but you get the Jews (John Green), Chaldeans (Charlie Haddad), and blacks (Ben's brother) unified against someone/something, it's not going to end well.

It was Darvin Ham's kid so it wasn't his 1st game.

That's the guy that almost got crushed by O'Neal right? The guy that ran on the court and was gonna fight Artest?

When I saw that I really knew shite was out of control. It was one thing for the fans in the stands to fight off players who jumped up there, but when random people were just running around trying to brawl it was crazy.

Then someone else reups it

If Oneal connects, that guy would have probably died.

He probably got to the floor and then realized just how enormous an enraged 7'0 260 man is in person. That has to be probably one of the scariest sights on earth

I watch the videos of it every once in a while just for the laughs. Never gets old.

My favorite World Peace moment is the "No Layups" yell when he was on the Kings after took out AK47 with a clear path to the basket

Artest wanted no part of Ben Wallace, but he has no problem fighting fans or elbowing James Harden in the face.
