Harper gets no help from the clowns hitting behind him, bro

I don't see that because he doesn't strike out at an alarming rate. Trout does however.

Trout career strikeout rate is only 1% above Harper.

ZIPS and Steamer both predict them with 21% the rest of the year.

Yes, and by next year when he's Trout's age, he might be putting up better numbers, especially if they sign someone to hit behind him.

Nats gm seems pretty shitty imo - he'll probably way overpay some "name" veteran like he did with Werth

Almost every study ever conducted, shows lineup protection is a myth.

True, was doing quick math and didn't realize that Trout has quite a few more plate appearances than Harper does this year.

In 2015, Harper is sitting at 20.5% and Trout is 23.1%.

Projection systems are great, but why would you intentionally avoid using real and relevant data?

Yea it has been proven time after time, it helps in lie 1% of cases I believe. Miggy and Fielder were last couple of player they studied this on.

I used real and relevant data when I used career rates, which is a larger sample. Plus we are talking about who we would rather have going forward and projection systems usually do a better job than people of predicting the future.

He hit two today didn't he? I saw the GS, but I thought he hit one in the first too.

I skipped right past the 1% career difference line, my bad.

I would just rather look at 2015 numbers than 2015 ROS projections for future value at this point. Outside of shite like LD%, virtually everything has stabilized for the year.
