We have a good defense so LSU, we’ve seen this play out the last few years with Oklahoma

Not totally relevant to your question, but an interesting “factoid”….

Bryan Kelly is 8-3 versus USC.

Losing to USC 3 times in the stretch given the coaches isn’t a good thing.

LSU is by no means an offensive juggernaut, but we score at least 30ish. If we pretend that neither team turns the ball over, I dont think USC has a chance considering how unbalanced their team is.

I dont want to wait til 2024 for this matchup. I hope 2 teams in front of us screw things up and we somehow play them in the final 4.

LSU has a really good PAC 12 QB1. USC has one that’s better. LSU got smoked at home by Smokey. USC lost by one point on the road at Utah, and the refs were sketchy. I’ll take the Trojans. Before you start, of course I’m biased. ??

I feel your pain. ND had Tyrone Willingham, Bob Davie and Charlie Weis during the Pete Carroll years!

I was going to use that as the counter case

I think USC is a fantastic offense with a great QB and one of the most innovative coaches in the sport.

I think LSU is the more complete team. Would be fun to watch.

That’s probably aggressive, using utah as a benchmark lsu and utah were both +2 or so at Florida. Call it even there. Utah was -3.5 vs usc but was at home. Neutral site is probably closer to a pickem

The thing is one is surrounded by Pac12 talent, the other SEC.

Yalls oline wouldn’t know what hit it; Perkins/Ojulari/Wingo would violate Williams’ personal space.

Now, yall would score some because our 2nd and 3rd corners are exploitable, but LSU would pound the ball and limit your possessions.

I think Caleb Williams is an extraordinary talent and string QB, but LSU’s defense can shut him down relatively speaking with someone like Perkins able to spy on him.

None of their previous opponents had anyone with Perkins talent/speed and Williams ran wild.

Pac12 has been atrocious for defense most of this season across the board, so it is hard to really get any solid belief that it is just their offenses being so good.

USC’s offense is rolling on CW’s athleticism. Perkins neutralizes that immediately.

What else does USC throw at LSU?

I think the only way USC wins is if LSU reverts back to the 1st half of the season form and commits a bunch of mistakes on offense.

LSU and I’d take the over on whatever they set Perkins sack total at

He would absolutely terrorize USC
