The whole "best however many teams" is a ridiculous criteria that goes against what competitive sports is all about.

There is no rule that the "best" teams should win and in fact college football is the only sport on Earth that uses that silly logic. It's a subjective metric the committee threw in so they could do stuff like this and have a cop-out.

Good point. Why don’t they just pick the best one team and then we don’t have to worry about playoffs.

The committee told 80+ student athletes they don’t believe they are good enough to compete because one of their teammates was injured... even though they did everything they were supposed to do. But they feel another team is good enough even though they didn’t do everything they were supposed to do.

Eye tests. We're back to 2004.

FSU got robbed and I'll stand to that. Complete bullshite. And I couldn't care less about the remaining teams.

Yep, by their logic Oregon would have beat Washington Friday but they didn't so "best" is a BS narrative....

I’ll be pulling for Washington. However I kind of want sign stealing Michigan to win so there is an asterisk next to the season.

It’s a “combination” of deserving and best
Fsu is deserving, but without Daniels they looked mediocre. It’s that simple
Everybody is overthinking this

Man, you went deep on this one. I understand 80+ kids worked hard, as a team to win their last 2 games although their leader got injured and could no longer play. They deserve mad respect and should be proud of their effort.

HOWEVER, if they want to be upset, they should be upset at their university for staying in that crappy league because their SOS is consistently not anywhere near what the SEC or Big 10 Champion will usually have. That means the ACC Champ is already facing an uphill battle, and it bit them in this scenario. This is the 1st time all conference champs had either 0 or 1 loss. A loss to the #3 team in the country followed by a win over the #1 team in the country, along with the #5 SOS is just plain better than an undefeated season over a combined opponent record of 77-79. FSU's best win, record wise, was #16 Louisville (10-3) followed by #13 LSU (9-3). Bama just beat #1 UGA (12-0), #11 Ole Miss (10-2), and #13 LSU (9-3). Every way you slice it, Bama is just better, especially since Travis is out.

Who did Georgia beat?
TN OM and MO.
Every other win was against absolute trash
They aren’t all that, and they proved it yesterday.

Schedules are made years in advance. Teams can only play who is scheduled.

Fla St. did not lose. Bama lost one game.

There were more than enough conference champs who were undefeated to have 3 for sure teams. Then the best one loss team was Texas.

The committee should add to their rules that the SEC gets an extra loss.

Why are you using current rankings for everyone but Georgia?
