I'd be really, really shocked in the Clippers sweep. That second half from them was just insane. I still believe the Rockets are going to take the series. It's going to 7 though.

Tough to see the Rockets winning a series in which they lost game 1 at home to a team starting Austin Rivers at point and playing Hedo big minutes. If Chris Paul sits game 2, I could see them having a shot. If CP plays and is 100%, I like the Clips.

Rockets have a ton of room for improvement, though. It's not like they played well and we're just beat. They really fricked themselves all night.

Harden returning to the defensive meme he's been over seasons' past didn't help.

That doesn't change the fact that the Clippers had a 37 point 3rd and 34 point 4th. They came out hot in the second half, but that's not going to happen the entire series. If they play like that the entire series, they could easily sweep, but they won't.

The Rockets shot absolutely terrible from the line, and the Clippers shots 41% from 3. When you're dropping 10 points at the line and the other team is draining half of their 3s, they're going to stomp you.

I think the Clips take it in 6. Houston is extremely weak at the point. Cp3 will exploit that weakness, and Griffin has been ridiculous all playoffs outside of a second half vs the Spurs during that series. Wouldn't surprise me to see Houston take it, Harden could explode. Just not banking on it. The Clips might have the best starting 5 in the NBA, but their bench is pretty awful outside of Crawford. Still the clips key guys > Houston's. The hack strategy in this becomes a wash with Deandre and Dwight both being laughably bad from the free throw line. Gut feeling is the Clips in 6. If the Clips win this next one though, game over.

This is pretty much how I feel completely. Actually, I'm guessing everyone feels that way.

Harden got to the line a bunch last series. The reason he didn't last night is because he didn't challenge their bigs at the rim because they are too athletic. So he gets hit less so he goes to the line less.

Harden doesn't magically get calls. He gets them because he relentlessly attacks the basket. But he can't attack the same way with Jordan and Griffin around the rim .

you dont get patty cake calls in the playoffs. That gimmick wont work now. There is a reason he didnt win mvp, and thats because diving into people to draw a foul instead of actually trying to make the basket isnt a skill. If hardent cant shoot freethrows, he dont know what to do. Clips win this series 5-6 games with ease.

It's not about "patty cake calls". A lot of Harden's points usually come from beating his man off the dribble and getting lay-ups. If he doesn't get the lay-up, he gets fouled because the defenders are not in good defensive position.

But against the Clippers, he has trouble taking it to the rim because their bigs are so long and athletic. He doesn't get as many lay-ups, and he doesn't get fouled as much because even if they aren't in great defensive position, they are athletic enough to make a play without fouling.

That's why he got to the line less last night than in the Dallas series. It's not because of the refs not blowing the whistle in the playoffs.
