It is pretty obvious that they have the best collection of teams at the top and the most balanced league. The committee is giving them respect that no other conference is getting.

East west split the cross divisional 7/7. Three teams at 11-1/12-0.

If Michigan state beats Iowa, Ohio States loss will certainly be overlooked.

I would be absolutely shocked if UNC beat Clemson. Like literally shocked.

UNC has been playing great football down the stretch. While at the same time, Clemson's defense has been downgraded a bit.

Yes Ohio State didn't win their division, has 1 top 25 win(3 loss Michigan) and lost at home. 0% chance they would get in over UNC or Clemson IMO

That didn't even matter when it was only two teams.

Who among the top teams have more? I think UNC would only have one as well. They can, and will, use the "eye test" criteria to justify it because OSU is a bigger name and more talented. It happens all the time.

North Caolina lost to one of the worst teams in FBS Power Five football -- that same scrub team gave Clemson a game.

The ACC is not very good. Their soft league is the reason Notre Dame had a hope and a prayer.

Great football is a stretch. Probably should have lost to GT and VT, two terrible teams. Clemson will win by 20

Maybe.....You would get the Big Ten Champ
Stanford if they win the pac-12 Oklahoma and Bama. If Stanford losses the Pac-10 UNC beats #1 Clemson, they should get tem..

I'm bookmarking this thread and going back and writing down everyone who thinks Stanford still has a chance so I know who to never take seriously.

I feel Ohio state n Oklahoma are two best teams right now. My guess is if Clemson looks like crap Ohio state jumps them

Why are people so sure that Ohio state is a slam dunk? How many top 25 wins does Ohio state have?

I don't see how so many people are counting UNC out if they were to actually pull the unlikely upset of Clemson.

If they do, their resume would only be slightly worse than Ohio St's (seemingly the next team in line) and you would think it would need to be a lot worse to discount the P5 conference championship.

Ohio St would have a much better loss and the big quality W over Michigan.

UNC would have a bad loss to South Carolina but the win over otherwise undefeated Clemson. And they would be P5 conference champions.

Otherwise, the two schedules are pretty similar, without teams even in the "other receiving votes" regions of the polls.

I believe Ohio St is better but there's not a lot on the actual resumes that the committee could point to as overwhelming the conference championship.

I could only see it happening if Michigan St were undefeated and the consensus #1 in the playoffs.

1 or 0 depending on if Michigan is still ranked. No chance they would get in over a 1 loss Clemson

This is they way I look at it. Clemson has a better resume than tOSU right now, as long as the loss isn't a bad loss, they'd still have a better résumé. So unless they put UNC (2 FCS wins and loss to S Carolina) in the playoffs, I don't see how they put tOSU over Clemson.

Only chance for OSU is if Clemson wins and Bama losses which would mean the committee is choosing between

1 loss AAC champ Houston
2 loss SEC champ Florida
2 loss FSU
2 loss TCU
2 loss ND
2 loss Pac10 champ Stanford
1 loss Big 10 runner up Iowa
1 loss Ohio State

Ohio St would have the worst resume of all those teams

I don't know that it would be "much" better considering the loss to South Carolina instead of Mich St.

But, yeah, I do see your point that the quality win over otherwise undefeated Clemson would clearly be the best win of either team and the rest of UNC and OSU's wins are over very similarly mediocre (or just plain bad) teams otherwise.

Either way, like I said, I don't see the committee thinking there's enough difference either way to "override" the potential conference championship if UNC were to upset Clemson.
