If Cavs Win, How Much Will GOAT Convo Change?

Assume This Happened: Lebron plays like a man possessed, and a championship is delivered to Cleveland after the Cavs win an epic 7 game series.
In The Time Before This Happened (TTBTH) a conversation about the greatness of Jordan and Lebron went like this:
Somebody like me: I think Lebron might just be better than Jordan was. I don't know that Jordan added as many wins to hypothetical Team X as Lebron did. This can evidenced by the profound increase in wins by the Cavs in Lebron's first year, the Heat in Lebron's first year there, and the Cavs in Lebron's first year there of his second stint, and also by the Cavs the year after lebron left and the Heat the year after Lebron left. Compare that to the Bulls in '94. It doesn't look to me like Jordan was bringing wins to the table like Lebron was and is, and it doesn't appear to me that it's even a close call.
Some dude who agrees with 99.5 percent of the population: [insert flabbergasted attempt at an actual response followed by smug response that includes the words "six rings" or "kiss the rings" or "lebron's a choker" or "Jordan didn't go to other teams to get championships"]
Somebody like me:: Man, you're really smart. How do you feel about late night TV programming.
Some dude who agrees with 99.5 percent of the population: Jay Leno 4 Life*. Jordan is the goat. Kiss the rings. MJ, Jordan, MJ!
Now, keeping in mind that the above confo was TTBTH) how does such a conversation go in The Time After This Happened (TTATH)?

I don't even want to jumble my mind enough to think about it.

Sweet - yet another Lebron/Jordan thread.

It won't change at all. The same people who say "the Cavs have no chance and will lose in 5" are the same people who won't give a frick if he brings home the ship. Just like Chicago and Atl were gonna beat them but ooops now they suck.

People would still resist to consider him the best. Some people on the fence would think Jordan and LeBron are 1a and 1b though

When did 3 rings(hypothetically) equal 6?

No rational person thought the Hawks had a chance, not with the way they were playing in the playoffs.

Hes not wrong
Not everyone was picking Atlanta and Chicago to beat Cleveland. And certainly not everyone picking Golden State to win this series in 5 games was also predicting the Cavs to lose in the East playoffs, either.
The Cavs are probably going to lose this series, and it's going to have nothing to do with LeBron being the GOAT or not being the GOAT. He's amazing either way. It's going to be because his TEAM (supporting cast) isn't good enough, and LeBron teams continue to foolishly make him the primary ball handler and surround him with three-point shooters. And let's face it, teams/coaches do this because that's the style LeBron wants to play, and he runs the show. It is what it is.
He could be used so much better and more creatively.
The Cavs' offensive rebounding goes a long way for them. Not that it's a fluky thing because they continuously grab the boards, but it kind of helps to mask some other problems that they have.
If Cleveland was healthy and had Love, I think the Cavs would win. As is, though, they're a bit of fool's gold for me. LeBron is carrying them and it's costing him his efficiency. The Warriors are very good. These two facts probably won't go well together for Cavs fans.

Go check out the eastern conference finals prediction thread, atleast 65% of the picks are Cleveland and I'd bet half the ATL picks were just Hawks fans LINK
So nobody was really expecting ATL or Chicago to win
So nobody was really expecting ATL or Chicago to win

What? Couple months before the playoffs we were being laughed out of threads by simply thinking the Cavs had a chance to get to the finals. When they started, it was popular thought that the Chicago series would be insanely hard on the Cavs and screw trying to win the Atl series.
Now those teams suck.
Now those teams suck.

Jordan could sign with the Warriors tomorrow and be the MVP of the Finals.

It was obvious as shite that the Cavs were going to kill Atlanta and still a sizable % picked them. I hear you though.

i will say that it will give lebron a legitimate "gotcha" point. he'll take a so-so team and not only win a title, but beat a historically good team (with home court advantage). that is something jordan never did (he won titles with the most talented team every time he won a title)
Posted on 5/28/15 at 6:02 pm to BayouBengals03
That's no excuse We've watched Lebron led teams for how many years now?

This. Especially considering Kyrie's injury, if the Cavs win the title, it will be a legendary performance/moment for LeBron.
The Warriors are really, really good. The Cavs are a pretty decent group with LeBron. If he can carry them to the title, it does wonders for his legacy, IMO.
If they lose, it doesn't hurt it at all to me. They should lose this series, so I don't see why people will act like it is bad on LeBron when they do.
