Like I said if Russell Wilson beats the Niners and Rams and throws some TD passes and RG3 sits I think he will win

He's tied with Wilson and 1 game above RG3. They're slaughtering him in QB Rating and TD-INT ratio.

People act like Seattle and Washington are cellar-dwellers.

I completely agree with everything you posted above. If he wins it, it's because of two things...
1) The media hype
2) The fact that the Colts' record had such a big improvement.

Then he would deserve it. No OL NO running game.

And hype? everytime I turn on the TV it's a rg III commercial.

No one has received more hype than RG3. He's very good, but his publicist kills Luck's. I haven't seen Napoleon Dynamite in any commercials.

Luck was the only significant change to the colts and has taken them from a 2 win team to nearly 10 wins and a playoff run. Using just QB rating in the evaluation is too simplistic.

Huh? The Colts brought in Donnie Avery, TY Hilton, Coby Fleener, and Dwayne Allen. They've surrounded him with skill position talent.

The one person that should be mentioned is Morris. Dude has been a stud for washington all year.

O Morris is an absolute beast, there's zero doubting that. However, RG3 and the scheme Washington runs because of him is a huge reason for Morris' success. It's basically Shanahan's patented zone blocking scheme combined with the zone read which keeps you from having to block the dominant freakish DEs that are so prevalent in this league.

If you want to bring up changes for Washington this year, though, how come no mention of the loss of their two best defensive players?

quote:

Luck has taken a lot of risks in order to win games. When you are asked to throw the ball 40+ times a game as a rookie and your team makes the playoffs: you are worthy of rookie of the year discussions.

People mention all the "risks" Luck takes. How about RG3? Every one of those reads is on him. You knew you were going to be throwing the ball 40 times with Luck, that's why you did nothing but draft and sign skill players.

Morris scored 2 touchdowns this week without RG3 and his read option.

It would be 2nd worse. Devin Hester should of won DROY(or OROY who cares) in 2006.

He's turned the ball over a lot but that's simply because he's asked to take risks in order to win games plus look at his record

For people weighing the Colts' improvement from 2 to 9 wins, consider that the Colts had great incentive to lose last year (i.e., to draft Luck) and almost no reason to win, particularly late in the season.

also when you start off your rant with

that doesn't make me want to read any further. not sure about others, but that's just outlandish. Luck is having an amazing year. statistics aren't everything. look at the 4th quarter comebacks he's orchestrated. he's very impressive.

i'm not saying he should win it over others, but to say it's the most ridiculous thing of all time is just in itself ridiculous

No one is saying Morris is a scrub or incapable of succeeding without RG3. However, if you deny the presence of RG3 and the zone read's effect on a team's ability to run the ball then you should stop watching football.

How many RBs have 2 TDs when they face Cleveland? Cleveland is terrible, and Shanahan's system has always been successful. RG3 just increases its effectiveness.

With RG3 in the game, Washington's yards per play is the highest of any team in the league. How can you not see the connection?

I would vote RG3 for ROY, but Luck will be more valuable in the long run

so one bad game takes him out of consideration, when that one game was an entire clusterfrick for that offense? sounds logical.

I would have to agree with this. RG3 gets 10x the hype that Luck gets.

How many did Vince Young orchestrate? Would he win the ROTY this year?

and when Andrew Luck started for the Colts, their record improved by already 7 and probably more wins. how can you not see the connection?

see how this works.

How has RG3 looked with Morris out? Oh wait, Morris hasn't missed a game. I'm not saying RG3 is a scrub. He's fantastic. I've watched him play since he was at Copperas Cove. Huge fan of his skill set. Morris should be ROY.
