Well the play at the plate was obviously his fault but it wasn't called an error due to baseball idiosyncrasies. The wild pitch same - should have been stopped. The throwing error on Heyward should have easily been blocked.

The pen was an issue last year but the Cubs overcame it and then got Chapman.
A few things:
Edwards being out with a death in the family probably cost the Cubs one game at least. I think he puts a thumb in the dyke for one of those games.
I would have promoted Zastryzny over Duensing, I thought he was very effective in the limited opportunities he got last year.
Strop is the pitching equivalent of Starlin Castro, talented but unfocused. I'm not sure how long the Cubs can bank on the talent if he can't get his head straight.
I think the Cubs have a bit of a case of limo legs after the title. Lots of LOB, but that was an issue a lot last year too. I think over 162 games the talent will balance this out and the Cubs will be O.K. as far as getting to the post-season, but we'll ultimately have to give up some young talent to get some bullpen help again this year to give a chance to repeat.

I was thinking the same thing BCM, but ultimately it was my fault, I wore a Cub T-shirt I knew was bad luck and I thought I could turn it vs. the Pirates cause I like the shirt.....all me....don't blame yourself.
