I still think they get to at least the conference finals. They'll be much better than they are now in a couple of months. But that's just because the East is still so weak overall.

I still think they have zero percent chance to win a championship. I see no scenario they could have concocted that would result in a championship this year. I didn't agree with the going for broke with getting Love strategy. Now people are seeing that it's not going to be the world's best offense.

In a couple of years I believe the big question will be "What if the Cavs kept Wiggins?"

That's the reason why he signed the short term deal but it also give him an out if the pieces don't work.

Then that would mean he did not take that letter back in July seriously.

They are trying to be the Spurs overnight. They need to let that go. LeBron is being too passive. You are the best player on the team so take over the top and the rest will sort itself out. They really should have just kept Wiggins, and signed Miller and Marion like they did, and then signed another big or two (What the hell makes them think that Sideshow Bob is worth 30 mil over the next 3 years?!?!), but you can't go back now.

They can win 47/48 games and get a 2-3 seed. It's way too early to write them off.

No one is writing them off, just saying that they look really weird out there

So what you're saying is that he follows basic human nature.

they could easily be 3-1 just as they are 1-3... only portland outplayed them decidedly.

It does look weird but the chemistry is obviously not there. As we know, it took the Heat a while to figure it out, and they were more familiar with one another (international games) and all were near or in their prime.

What is he is sick. Aids or cancer...maybe Ebola causing him to lose weight.Left for Cleveland to spend the last of what little time he has left at home. He will come out after his short contract to retire.

Not for the 1st 20 games or so, but they'll more than likely finish up the season as the best or one of the best offenses I'd imagine.

Disagree.

If you're talking about a top 10 player, you take the sure thing/top 10 guy unless the rookie is a Lebron-like can't miss, once in a decade type "guarantee". Wiggins is definitely not that.

Isn't that funny how people hold athletes to higher standards than they hold themselves?

And I disagree with getting the best current player at all costs.

It's not about whether or not Kevin Love is a top 10 guy. It's not about whether he makes them a better team because he obviously does. It's about whether you even need to add a top 10 guy when his production will undoubtedly take a hit playing next to Lebron. It's about what you're actually gaining. I don't think the net gain was worth it if it doesn't result in a championship this year. And they aren't winning a championship this year. But that's just my opinion.

I think you make a move like that if it's going to pay off immediately. If not, keep Wiggins and build for the near future instead of the present. Cavs are just not good enough of a team for the Love move to pay off the way they wanted it to.

Plus there's the possibility that Love turns out to be a very expensive rental. Then what do they have to show for all of this?

It's so strange, it really is. It's like people forget that these are just dudes playing a game for a living.

These same guys that go out of their way to criticize for things like this, doing what is best for him, are the guys who wouldn't hesitate to leave their current employer in a heartbeat for a better opportunity/huge raise because it's better for them and their family. Nothing wrong with that, but at some point you gotta stop and realize, these are actual people with actual families too, and it's ok for them to look out for themselves and put themselves first in some of these situations.

It worked with Bosh. In what situation would you never not need a top 10 guy? This is basically 1 of 2 teams that will go to the Finals, you absolutely have to play for the now.

I don't necessarily think they're the best team but based on the conferences, I think they have the best odds. And even if they don't win it this season, if they do re-up Love, I don't see how this isnt worth it, especially to keep Wiggins, who we just aren't sure what he'll be.

That's definitely the wildcard in play there. Not sure what their cap situation is like, but they'd probably retool to make a run at someone else in a couple of seasons after that, i'd guess.
