How are they suddenly super bowl contenders with Romo?

Consider: Dallas win 13 games with a rookie QB and RB.

Do Denver or Houston have a comparable oline to Dallas at all?

Forget the team, were the Houston Texans one Tony Romo away from beating the Patriots in the playoffs? Were the broncos one Tony Romo away from making the playoffs?

No

need I remind you that had houston had a half competent quarterback they would have beaten the Pats in playoffs.

the year before when Denver won superbowl their OL was average at best.

both teams have solid defenses and Romo wont have to be a gunslinger that needs to put up 30+ pts every week.

Even though it's not possible, the JJ melt would be epic.

Those are the plausible teams that will sign him, now tell me how signing makes either of those teams better than New England. That's all that matters, the team that signs him still isn't going to the super bowl.

Peyton Manning going to broncos and winning a SB does not equal Tony Romo doing the same. Yes the defenses are good on both teams but Romo, who's only played with one team and never been to a conf champ game, suddenly taking anew team to the Superbowl, which means being Brady, the Raiders, the Cheifs and whoever comes out of the NFC is not going to happen. They will have a better chance of winning 1 more game in the playoffs possibly, but there's no way he's winning a SB with one of those teams.

You do know the only reason Tex sold him the Cowboys was because he was going to fire Landry.

Then we won a SB very shortly after.

If the Texans had a QB they might have beat the Pats, slow down hoss.
Osweiller was just over 50%, under 200 yds and had a 1:3 TD:int ratio

Why would Dallas keep him? It just doesn't make any sense at all. Jones literally had Dak fall in his lap. The fact that they even considered keeping Romo is ridiculous. Yes he is good but for how long will he be? Maybe one more year?

The falcons had Matt Ryan and a 28-3 lead, you slow down hoss. What in Tony Romo's history tells you that he would've won a close playoff game on the road against an elite QB?

You're saying if Brady had to have a drive at home in the playoffs vs a Romo-led Texans team you would take Romo? If we going revisionist history you'd have to be saying that's the side you're taking.

I didn't say I would pick Romo over Brady. But I do think he could have won that game.

He beat the Lions by 4 in the playoffs, outscoring them 10-0 in the 4th quarter. Stanford may not be elite, but don't pretend Romo can't win football games.

Well shite, if he can beat the Lions in the playoffs (NOT on the road vs Brady and Pats)...

What I'm saying is winning a minimum of 3 games in the playoffs vs elite teams (=super bowl win with a bye)..
There's no way IMO you can honestly say Romo, (who's never lead a loaded team to a conf champ game) to the Texans or Broncos makes them a SB contender. (Assuming he stays healthy while facing pass rushers like Khalil Mack or Von Miller)

If you're saying he could've won that game, you're taking Romo over Brady. If you change one of interference call, you're changing everything that happens in a game after that. You're changing a QB on the road in a playoff game.

Could have won.

Not definitely would.

I think the game would have been closer, and that's Romo could have won.

Could

Not would.

As in it is a real possibility. Not a certainty.

Could have won.
