yes its someone else's turn now...
I feel confident you don't do any sports programming for TV
lakers will be on natl tv until ratings warrant otherwise
don't like? Don't watch
this argument is pointless

somewhere between 6-11 AT BEST in the West even with Kobe Bryant.

I mean yeah it sucks that the Lakers are on TV so much... but with the NBA, there are plenty of games that come on national television, so you can watch a lot of good basketball and completely ignore the Lakers.
It's not like if you miss the Lakers game then you missed the NBA for that week or even that night. They have double headers on both Wednesday and Thursday, games on Saturday and Sunday, and games on NBA TV on Friday and maybe other days of the week.
So even if the Lakers get 25 games a year on national TV, you aren't missing any NBA action if you just don't watch their games.

Why is it the Lakers' birthright to be on national television for half the season?

if nobody watched then they wouldn't be on tv
it isn't that hard to understand
The issue you run in to is that they play a lot of the later West Coast games, where the league only has a few games to pick between in that given time slot. So it would make sense to side with the most popular team in the sport.
It isn't like there are a ton of good teams on the coast. It is basically the Warriors and Clippers. No one will really want to tune in to watch the bad Blazers or bad Kings this year.
It is the main reason the Knicks got way more games flexed out of last year.

Now there's a bit more eyes watching with Flip passing away

nuggets are not good either, and Phoenix is not a draw
so it's lakers/warriors/clippers on the late games and that's about it

Explain. Why is it the Lakers' birthright to be on national television for half the season? Everybody knows this team will be bad and dysfunctional, and somewhere between 6-11 AT BEST in the West even with Kobe Bryant.
The same reason most of the rest of the country is subjected to shitbird Dallas Cowboys football every weekend
