Would they play the first 8 games on the road all in the US and then the last 8 in London, and have a facility in the US?

Or would they have a normal schedule, and just basically be guaranteed to never be good due to travel constraints?

Another stupid fricking suggestion by Roger Goodell the genius. This would never ever work.

Absolutely terrible idea.

When going to the West coast they'd be on a plane for 10-12 hours.

I honestly don't think anyone wants this. The British really don't care. Americans don't want it. It's just one of the "Longhorn Network" fallacies- just because you have a bunch of people without a product, doesn't mean people will buy that product once you introduce it to them

does sitting on a plane an extra 3-4 hrs 8 times a year really make that big of a difference?

for any other team, its a max once a year travel exception, east coast teams really ain't very much further than Seattle flying to miami.

They could make this work if they wanted to. It's 2015.

Probably 4 games at home, 4 away, 4 at home, 4 away. They could probably even do 2 and 2.

It would be a hassle to be on the London team, I guess. But it's doable. The question is, would England support a team enough for it to make sense.

Yes

the answer was no jackass.

and the team could easily have a temporary set up in the states if they wanted to do midweek practices during season if they have 2 back to backs in the states.

Thats the issue. That team is fricked. No one wants to play on that team. No one wants to coach that team.

The only way I could see this working is that they would need some United States base of football operations and travel to London on Friday I suppose.

It's a stupid idea all around.

The London team would have to have a higher salary cap.

a) to be able to attract more players
b) higher taxes in the UK

They have to give us a couple of Premiership Rugby teams in exchange.

that's how it would work, with a US based facility. This will also coincide with a 2nd bye week being introduced.

they sell out every single game they get as it is.

While I agree, there are also a bunch of teams out there who need this. I wish a team of accountants and economists could make fair salary caps in all leagues.

It wouldn't without at least an entire divisions worth of European teams and there just isnt enough interest in Europe to support that many teams
