Not really a fan of ISO ball but it's a solid gameplan for this series. It slows the pace of the game and it makes it where LBJ is making the bulk of decisions. Tonight it wasn't so much ISO ball as it was Blatt trying to force Curry into being the hedge on the LBJ ball screen. Curry wasn't comfortable doing that and that Cavs took advantage of it.

They kind of did stop it, hell he only shot 33% from the field.

And it can happen three more times. This is a series.

It simplified the game

Cavs were wonderful defensively too

Can you blame the Cavs?!?! They have BY FAR the best iso guy on the planet and their other 2 studs are out of commission. This is the only way they can win.

I really want them to mic Blatt up and for him to yell "LeBron iso" every time they are bringing the ball up.

Exactly. I think we're using too broad a definition for ISO ball. The terrible ISO ball is 1-4 flat and the like. Every post up can be defined as ISO ball, but it's an extremely effective play.

The offense has been extremely simplistic, but there's nothing inherently wrong with that. Using a simple 1-4 PNR to get Curry switched onto LeBron isn't really the definition of ISO ball in my opinion. Once you get the switch, of course, you're going to isolate the weaker defender because that's the most effective play at that point in the possession.

Phil Jackson won a lot of rings by isolating guards on the elbow, but no one would call the triangle ISO ball.
