I mean, how in the frick does a team at their level have such a giant recruiting hole that they're forced to start a pure freshman that socks arse.

Hell. A true freshman at all. How the hell?

Ehh I wouldn't say he "sucks arse"... just needs to work on trusting his reads and throwing the ball... he is overthinking it and not trusting himself at the present

Were GMc, AJ, Coker, and Sims all that great? Lil Nicky has been winning with pedestrian guys and it came back to bite him in the arse.

no. But they weren't freshman. He lived off them being competent upper classmen.

Unless the freshman is the second coming of Cam Newton, a team like Bama really ought to have a decent guy ahead of him.

Most qbs that look good aren't that good. They're in systems that make them look good. Obviously, Saban's system isn't going to make a qb look better than he is. There are only a handful of truly good qbs every year. 5 out of over 200 schools. Odds are low for any college.

They had Blake Barnett who was the #1 qb in the nation who started the qst game. Hurts beat him out though.

They had the best qb from 2014 recruiting, David Cornwell from OK, but I guess he sucked and is now transferring.

Hurts was praised for his poise all year, but he really missed tons of open guys last night. Watching the coaches telecast really pointed that out. He would lock on 1 receiver and get jumpy if that one wasn't open. Other guys were running wide open all night. Not sure if they took those reads away from him, but he just flat out missed long plays all night.

Clemson made him look like freshman and Saban and Sark handcuffed him.

He scored the would have been game winning TD last night if Obama's D shows up in the 4th.

Great line and crappy defenses.

Man, EVERYTHING is that guy's fault.

Seriously though, Hurts was good enough to win. Bama's D, offensive playcalling, and the Bo injury cost them the game, IMO.
